Entergy Texas Celebrates Corporate Citizenship
Beaumont, Texas – Thanksgiving
started early today in Beaumont when representatives from charitable, nonprofit
agencies throughout Southeast Texas came together to celebrate the nearly
$309,000 in grants given to them by Entergy Texas, Inc. since June of this year.
Funds distributed to 64 agencies
since May represent grants from the Texas utility itself and from the Entergy
Charitable Foundation. Funds given represent support for educational and
environmental programs as well as programs that assist low-income residents.
“It is such a privilege to partner
with so many agencies throughout Southeast Texas who make such a difference in
the lives of our customers and in the communities where we all live and work,”
said Pam Williams, customer operations support manager. “Bringing them together
like this to celebrate gives us the opportunity to showcase the work they do
throughout Southeast Texas.”
Today’s event was the second held by
Entergy Texas this year. The first, in May, celebrated $131,400 given to almost
as many organizations.
The number of organizations receiving
grants by general area at today’s event include: Beaumont, 39; Port Arthur, 4;
Woodville, 4; Orange, 3; Nederland 2; and one each for Anahuac, Winnie, Sour
Lake, Nome, Bridge City, Vidor, Groves, Saratoga, Liberty, Kountze, Warren and
Spurger.
