Entergy’s new tools and services give customers more control over summer energy
costs
Beaumont, Texas – As temperatures
rise and electricity use increases, Entergy Texas, Inc. reminds customers that
there’s power in numbers when it comes to saving money on summertime energy
bills.
Via the continuation of its “You’ve
Got the Power” initiative, which hailed impressive results in its first year
last summer, Entergy is again offering multiple ways to help customers gain more
control over energy use and receive assistance with energy expenses.
“This summer, customers have an
unprecedented number of tools and services at their fingertips to help them
manage energy costs more effectively,” said Vernon Pierce, customer service
director for Entergy Texas, Inc. “Customers have told us that saving money is
their top priority, and there’s no better time than summer to equip them with
practical, convenient solutions to deal with higher electricity usage that comes
with hot weather.”
In May, Entergy introduced the “Save
Me Money” program to provide customers with more resources and tools to help
lower energy costs. At
entergy.com/savemoney, customers will meet Tom, Entergy’s myAdvisor, who
takes visitors on a virtual tour of helpful energy-related topics and provides
personalized money-saving tips.
“Tom” is part of Entergy’s new suite of self-service, easy-to-use tools to help
customers understand their bills, learn about different payment options and
discover easy energy- and money-saving ideas they can implement at home.
Features include step-by-step videos
and printouts on energy-saving home projects, energy-saving calculators, and
energy-efficiency programs that offer incentives to customers who invest in
energy-efficient lighting, appliances and upgrades. Also, account management
options such as Level Billing are available at
entergy.com/mypaymentoptions
to help customers manage energy costs more effectively year-round.
In response to the extended summer
heat wave of 2011, Entergy pledged $1 million to The Power to Care grant program
and sponsored telethons and other fundraising activities throughout its
four-state service area to provide emergency bill-payment assistance to seniors
and disabled individuals in crisis. Through partnerships with nonprofit
agencies, Entergy will continue to support The Power to Care program this
summer.
In addition, Entergy’s annual “Beat
the Heat” program distributes hundreds of energy-efficient box fans to
qualifying customers to provide relief during the hottest months of the year.
Throughout the summer, Entergy
representatives will be busy in communities making energy-efficiency
presentations and conducting workshops designed to help customers save money.
“This summer, ‘You’ve Got the Power’
reminds customers that they have more options than ever to save money,” Pierce
said. “We encourage customers to take advantage of energy-saving programs that
can lower bills and make homes more energy efficient for every season.”
