Entergy Mississippi Empowers Customers with Vision, Dexterity Issues

Free online tool helps customers navigate company website and others

JACKSON, Miss. – If you have trouble typing, moving a mouse or reading, Entergy Mississippi, inc. has a new online tool to help.

Provided by eSSENTIAL Accessibility, the technology helps customers with limited dexterity or reading issues more easily navigate the company’s website. That means it will be easier to pay bills, access money-saving tips and tools, view outages, schedule service appointments and unlock the other tools, services and information Entergy’s website provides.

“ People who’ve had a stroke, suffer from paralysis or have arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or cerebral palsy often have difficulty typing, moving a mouse or even reading a Web page,” said Gloria Johnson, Entergy Mississippi director of customer service. “The new tool also helps those who have trouble reading because of literacy deficiencies, dyslexia or similar learning issues.

“Even customers with mild visual impairment or age-related issues that affect sight or dexterity can benefit from the technology.”

To access the tool, click on the wheelchair or computer icon located at the top right-hand side of Entergy’s web page (entergy-mississippi.com). This opens Entergy’s website, as well any other website, to those who are physically disabled.

“Through our alliance with eSSENTIAL Accessibility, Entergy is taking part in a disability community involvement initiative launched in association with advocacy groups for the disabled,” said Johnson. “We’re proud to support this tool that makes Web content more accessible. We care about all of our customers, and are dedicated to serving them all.”
