Entergy Employees Join Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries to Help Protect and Promote the

Entergy’s month of environmental volunteerism focuses on sustainability

BATON ROUGE, La. – As part of a month of company volunteerism events focused on the environment, employees of Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. are devoting their time, efforts and talents to help protect and promote Louisiana as the “sportsman’s paradise” at the 28th annual National Hunting and Fishing Day Outdoor Festival on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the event is at the Waddill Wildlife Refuge, 4142 N. Flannery Road in Baton Rouge. The daylong occasion is part of a national effort to inform and educate citizens on natural resource conservation and to encourage families to spend more time outside. Entergy employee volunteers will assist with activities, including canoeing, skeet shooting, archery, wildlife exhibits, a children’s fishing rodeo, seafood and wild game tasting booths and other family-friendly offerings.

“Hunting and Fishing Day is about taking steps as a community, as families and as individuals to learn about, better appreciate and commit to conserve Louisiana’s rich natural resources – responsibilities that Entergy and each of its employees take to heart,” said Morgan Stewart, manager of external affairs for Entergy Gulf States Louisiana. “We’re proud to support the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and be an active part of improving Louisiana’s environmental future.”

Entergy’s environmental commitment includes initiatives to stabilize CO2 emissions, restore coastal wetlands, promote energy efficiency, improve communities from an environmental perspective and encourage recycling. On an emissions-per-megawatt-produced basis, Entergy Corporation is one of the cleanest utilities in the U.S., and its sustainable practices in the areas of economic, environmental and social performance in 2011 resulted in its inclusion in the 2012/2013 Dow Jones Sustainability North America and World Indices. Entergy is one of only two U.S. companies in the electric utility sector selected to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.

Baton Rouge Hunting and Fishing Day is free and open to the public. For information about the event, call (225) 765-2925.

Entergy’s Louisiana utility companies serve more than one million customers through the operating companies Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C.
