Corporate Counsel Magazine - List of Best Legal Departments
Entergy’s legal team was named a finalist in Corporate Counsel magazine’s 2014 list of Best Legal Departments. Noted accomplishments included the team’s role in transferring control of Entergy’s utility transmission system to the MidContinent Independent System Operator Regional Transmission Organization and the group’s emphasis on diversity both in hiring and in preparing women and minorities for leadership roles within the organization.

CR Magazine - 100 Best Corporate Citizens
Entergy Corporation’s responsible and sustainable actions in the areas of corporate governance and finance, environment, employee relations and philanthropy gained the company recognition by Corporate Responsibility Magazine as one of the country’s 100 best corporate citizens. The publication’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens List is the result of an annual assessment of nearly 300 performance indicators of public companies across the United States. Entergy’s top rankings included the areas of climate change and philanthropy, with a first-place ranking in corporate governance. This is the fifth year Entergy has been named to the list.

DiversityComm, Inc. - Best of the Best Awards
Entergy was named a Top Energy, Oil and Utility Company in the 2014 Best of the Best Awards by DiversityComm, Inc., publisher of diversity magazines, in relation to outreach and accessibility to the African American, Hispanic/Latino, female and veteran populations. The award recognizes policies that support equal access, advancement and inclusion of all individuals regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, age, marital status, disability, public assistance status, veteran status or sexual orientation.

Arbor Day Foundation - Tree Line USA Utility
The Arbor Day Foundation named Entergy Corporation a Tree Line USA utility for the ninth consecutive year. Tree Line USA, a partnership between the Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters, recognizes public and private utilities for pursuing practices that protect and enhance America's urban trees. Tree Line USA promotes the dual goals of delivering safe and reliable electricity while maintaining healthy community forests.

PR News - Workplace Innovation Award
As part of Entergy’s 100th birthday, the Heartlight campaign was launched to encourage employees to increase contributions to The Power to Care. Through new and increased giving, employees increased contributions to the customer assistance fund from $190,000 in 2012 to $350,000 in 2014. Funds were paired with contributions from customers, retirees and shareholders to ease the energy burden of low-income customers. PR News recognized the program with the Workplace Innovation award.

PR News - Green PR Award
As the environmental sponsor of Super Bowl XVLII, Entergy led the efforts of a community coalition to plan and host the greenest Super Bowl in the NFL history. The online Geaux Green game allowed football fans to commit to personal actions to reduce their environmental footprints. Fans’ small commitments--such as changing conventional light bulbs to energy-efficient light bulbs--combined with other actions during the event resulted in savings of 46 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions. The initiative scored PR News’ Green PR award.  

EPA - ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized Entergy Texas, Inc. with a 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award for their continued leadership in protecting our environment through superior energy efficiency.

EPA - ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) named Entergy New Orleans, Inc. a 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award recipient for its outstanding contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by providing energy efficiency education and programs to its customers.

Edison Electric Institute - Emergency Recovery and Emergency Assistance Awards
The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) awarded Entergy with the association’s Emergency Recovery Award and Emergency Assistance Award. These honors recognize Entergy’s exceptional power restoration efforts after a widespread winter storm and tornadoes in December 2012 and its assistance to Alabama Power after severe storms in March 2013.

This is the 16th consecutive year Entergy has received an EEI national storm restoration award. Including this year’s two honors, Entergy has received 21 awards from EEI during the past 16 years for its restoration and mutual assistance work.

Chartwell's Best Practices in Customer Service, Marketing and Outage Communications Awards - Silver Medal
Each year, Chartwell, Inc., a specialized information provider for the utility industry, uses its awards program to recognize excellence among electric and gas utilities for projects, programs and service initiatives that are best practices in the industry. The 2013 Silver Award medalist for Outage Communications went to Entergy. Entergy was recognized for its "deep dive" approach to garner customer feedback to create an outage communications process that keeps customers informed and makes them feel cared for and in control.

POWER Magazine - Top Nuclear Plants
POWER Magazine named Entergy's Waterford 3 Nuclear Station to the publication's list of top nuclear plants worldwide.

CDP S&P 500 Climate Performance Leadership Index and Climate Disclosure Leadership Index
Understanding the impact of climate change and taking action to manage related risks earned Entergy recognition by CDP S&P 500 Climate Performance Leadership Index. CDP is an international, not-for-profit organization providing the only global system for companies and cities to measure, disclose, manage and share vital environmental information. Entergy was the only utility added to the performance index in 2013. 

Entergy was also named to the CDP S&P 500 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index. The disclosure index highlights companies with a strong approach to providing information on climate change. Only the top 10 percent of companies assessed are included on the index, with 53 companies making the list in 2013. This was the ninth time in 10 years that Entergy was included on the disclosure index.

Dow Jones Sustainability World and North America Indices
Accomplishments in economic, environmental and social performance in 2012 by Entergy have been recognized by the 2013/2014 Dow Jones Sustainability World and North America Indices. Entergy is the only U.S. company in the electric utility sector named to the World Index. This is the 12th consecutive year the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, which measures the sustainable value companies provide to stakeholders, has included Entergy on either its World or North America index or both.

Site Selection Magazine - Top 10 Utilities in Economic Development
Entergy was named one of the nation’s Top 10 utilities in economic development by Site Selection magazine for its 2012 efforts to help attract more than $26 billion in projects that could create up to 10,000 jobs in its service region. It is the sixth straight year Entergy’s utilities have been named to the magazine’s list.

CR Magazine - 100 Best Corporate Citizens
Entergy Corporation has been recognized by CR Magazine, America's leading voice on corporate responsibility. The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List recognizes the standout performance of public companies across the United States.  Companies are rated annually for performance in seven categories: environment, climate change, human rights, employee relations, governance, philanthropy and financial performance. This year marks Entergy’s fourth appearance on the list. Entergy was also ranked as one of the top 10 performing corporate citizens in the utilities sector.

Nuclear Energy Institute - Top Industry Practice Awards
Entergy Nuclear received two of 10 Top Industry Practice process awards presented at the annual Nuclear Energy Assembly held in Washington, D.C., and hosted by the Nuclear Energy Institute. TIP awards rank among the nuclear energy industry's most prestigious recognitions. Winning TIPs this year were both Entergy Nuclear headquarters and Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.

Arbor Day Foundation - Tree Line USA Utility
The Arbor Day Foundation named Entergy Corporation a Tree Line USA utility for the eighth year in a row. Tree Line USA is a national program recognizing public and private utilities for pursuing practices that protect and enhance America's urban trees. A partnership between the Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters, Tree Line USA promotes the dual goals of delivering safe and reliable electricity while maintaining healthy community forests.

American Carbon Registry - Innovation Award
The American Carbon Registry (ACR), a nonprofit enterprise of Winrock International, recognized outstanding environmental achievements of trailblazing organizations with awards based on the organization’s guiding principles of innovation, quality and excellence. The Innovation award went to two pioneering entities that made possible the development and piloting of a revolutionary U.S. carbon offset methodology for deltaic wetland restoration: Tierra Resources and Entergy Corporation. The methodology, developed by Tierra Resources with funding from Entergy’s Environmental Initiatives Fund, creates a pathway through the sale of carbon offsets to raise much-needed funds for wetland restoration.

Target Rock Advisors - Sustainable Utility Leaders Index
Entergy was named to the 2013 Sustainable Utility Leaders Index by Target Rock Advisors. The index is a stock index for guiding sustainable and socially responsible investment decisions while recognizing utilities that have excelled as socially responsible corporate citizens. Entergy is among 24 utilities named to the index from approximately 150 publicly traded U.S. energy utilities considered.

Edison Electric Institute - Emergency Recovery and Emergency Assistance Awards
The Edison Electric Institute honored Entergy Corporation with the association’s 2012 Emergency Recovery Award and Emergency Assistance Award for its work restoring power to its own customers following Hurricane Isaac and to customers of other utilities after Hurricane Sandy and the June 2012 derecho weather event. This is the 15th consecutive year Entergy has received an EEI national storm restoration award.

Corporate Equality Index
The CEI ranking highlights the company’s efforts to maintain a positive and productive work environment that respects the dignity and worth of each employee.

Site Selection Magazine
Entergy has again been named one of the "Top Utilities in Economic Development in North America." This is the fifth consecutive year the company was recognized for its work to support economic development in our service area.

Dow Jones Sustainability Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index again named Entergy Corporation to their World Index and North America Index for 2012/2013. Entergy was one of only two U.S. companies in the electric utility sector selected to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. Entergy has been recognized by the DJSI North America for 11 consecutive years on either or both the World and North America indices.

Carbon Disclosure Project Leadership Index
Entergy was named to the Carbon Disclosure Project Leadership Index, which includes the companies with the highest carbon disclosure scores. This is the eighth time in the past nine years Entergy has been named to the Leadership Index by CDP, which works with shareholders and companies to disclose information on carbon emissions, sustainability and climate change risk.

Arbor Day Foundation - Tree Line USA Utility
The Arbor Day Foundation recognized Entergy Corporation as a 2012 Tree Line USA utility for its commitment to proper tree pruning, planting and care within the Entergy service territory.

Tree Line USA is a partnership between the Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters that recognizes public and private utilities for their efforts to protect and enhance America’s urban trees while ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable power. It is the seventh year Entergy has been recognized.

Maplecroft Climate Innovation Indexes - Top 100 Climate Innovation Leaders
Entergy Corporation was rated among the top 100 best performing companies in the Maplecroft Climate Innovation Indexes (CIIs) Cycle 3 Universe. Inclusion in this index demonstrates superior management, mitigation and adaptation in the field of Climate Innovation. 

More than 360 U.S.-listed companies with free-float market capitalization of more than $1 billion have been rated and reviewed by Maplecroft, a risk analysis firm. 

Edison Electric Institute - Emergency Recovery and Emergency Assistance Awards
The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) honored Entergy Corporation with the association’s “Emergency Recovery Award” and “Emergency Assistance Award” for its outstanding power restoration efforts to its own customers throughout 2011 and to other utility company customers following Hurricane Irene.

This is the 14th consecutive year for Entergy to receive an EEI national storm restoration award. Entergy is the only company in the nation to have been recognized in each of the 14 years of the awards’ existence.

GovernanceMetrics International assigned Entergy with an overall global rating of 10.0, the highest possible rating in recognition of best-in-class corporate governance. Using a proprietary ratings model, GMI assigned a 10.0 rating to the top 1 percent of approximately 4,200 companies rated globally. GMI’s rating system incorporates six broad categories of analysis: board accountability, financial disclosure and internal controls, remuneration, shareholder rights, market for control and corporate behavior.

Newsweek Magazine’s “Green Rankings"
Entergy was named one of the Top 500 “greenest” companies in the U.S. based on Newsweek magazine’s 2011 “Green Rankings” for environmental performance, policies and disclosure.

Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2011-2012
For the 10th straight year, Entergy Corporation was recognized as a leader in sustainability, ranking among the best in climate strategy, corporate governance, occupational health and safety, price and risk management, and scorecard measurements.

Entergy was named to the 2011-12 Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index, one of only 13 U.S. utilities included on that list. DJSI North America evaluates the largest North American companies based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria.

Entergy has been included on either the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index or DJSI North America every year since 2002.

Corporate Responsibility Officer Magazine - One of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens
Corporate Responsibility magazine named Entergy Corporation one of the “100 Best Corporate Citizens” in the nation. It is the fourth time in five years that Entergy has earned the distinction. The magazine’s 12th annual ranking of the top corporate citizens is based on an analysis of publicly available information used to rank performance of the 1,000 largest companies in seven areas: climate change, environment, philanthropy, employee relations, financial, governance.

Edison Electric Institute - Storm Response and Assistance Awards
Entergy Corporation was recognized by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) for the 13th consecutive year with its national storm restoration award. This award recognizes Entergy's work in restoring power following a wide-ranging snowstorm that struck the southeastern region of the country in December 2009. Entergy also received an EEI Emergency Assistance Award for helping restore service to customers of American Electric Power Co., Inc., in Kentucky and West Virginia. AEP requested restoration assistance after some 395,000 customers lost electric service during the peak of the storm.

Edison Electric Institute - Advocacy Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement
Entergy Corporation received the annual Advocacy Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement from the Edison Electric Institute for its continuing efforts to expand access to quality pre-kindergarten education programs in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

New Orleans CityBusiness - Leonard Honored as ‘Driving Force’ in New Orleans
Entergy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer J. Wayne Leonard was named one of the "Driving Forces" by New Orleans CityBusiness as part of the publication’s 30th anniversary celebration. Leonard was among 30 New Orleans business leaders recognized for their significant contributions to the Greater New Orleans community during the last 30 years.

Dow Jones Sustainability World Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes again named Entergy Corporation to their World Index and North America Index for 2010. Entergy was one of only five U.S. utility companies selected to the world index and one of only 10 utilities selected to the North America index. Entergy has been recognized by the DJSI North America for nine consecutive years and listed on the DJSI World for five consecutive years – a distinction held by no other U.S. utility company. 

National Fuel Funds Network, Corporate Excellence Award
Entergy Corporation received the honor for its work fighting poverty and helping its low-income customers through its Low-Income Customer Assistance Initiative, a collection of programs that serve as a model for our industry peers and beyond.

Communitas Awards – Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals Leadership in Community Service category
Entergy Nuclear and Entergy Mississippi received the award for efforts to improve relations and boost the community near Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. Nominees for this award must demonstrate an all-around effort to give back to the community, including company-organized volunteer programs, philanthropy and sustainable businesses practices. The judges found that “Entergy clearly exhibits the spirit of communitas, a Latin word that means ‘people coming together for the good of the community.’"

Communitas Awards – Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals Community Partnership category
Entergy Corporation was honored for “We’ve Got the Power to Care Week,” a company-wide series of volunteer efforts to weatherize homes of low-income customers as well as help Habitat for Humanity build new homes in different sections of Entergy’s service territory.

Communitas Awards – Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals Philanthropy category
Entergy Corporation was honored for its support of the Teach for America program to add 650 teachers to public schools across south Louisiana. The Entergy Charitable Foundation’s total investment in Teach for America is in excess of $1.3 million since 2002, with most of the funding donated following Hurricane Katrina.

Edison Electric Institute - Emergency Recovery Award
Entergy received an Edison Electric Institute Emergency Recovery Award for restoring power to more than 111,000 customers in Arkansas affected by the ice storm that struck in January 2009. It is the 12th consecutive year Entergy has received a storm response award from EEI. Entergy is the only company to be honored every year since the EEI Emergency Response Awards were first presented in 1998. Entergy has won five awards for its efforts restoring power to its own customers and nine awards for helping other utilities repair their systems.

Institutional Investor Magazine - Entergy CEO, CFO Named to “2010 All-America Executive Team," Company Rated Top Electric Utility, Among Most Honored Companies
J. Wayne Leonard, chairman and chief executive officer, was named the top CEO in the power industry and a member of the "2010 All-America Executive Team," according to rankings compiled by Institutional Investor magazine.

Entergy also was listed as the top electric utility in the country and among the top nine companies in the nation, making it one of the "Most Honored Companies" included in the magazine’s survey of more than 1,350 securities analysts representing more than 500 securities firms and financial institutions.

Included on the "All-America Executive Team" was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Leo Denault, who was ranked as the best CFO in the power industry.

Leonard has ranked as one of the top CEOs in the nation for seven consecutive years in the magazine’s survey. He is the only CEO included among the top four electric utility CEOs in the rankings every year since they began in 2004. He was named top CEO in the power industry in 2004.

The Sustainability Yearbook - 2010 Bronze Class
The Sustainability Yearbook, one of the world's most insightful publications on corporate sustainability and the related challenges and opportunities for companies, recognized Entergy for the 2010 edition. Each year the 2,500 largest companies in the world (as reflected in the Dow Jones Wilshire Global Index) are invited to participate in Sustainable Asset Management's Corporate Sustainability Assessment. Only the top-scoring 15% from the 58 sectors assessed are included.

League of American Communications Professionals - Bronze Award 
The partnership between Entergy and Teach For America to change the face of public education in South Louisiana was recognized with a Bronze award in the Community Relations category. 

Minority Engineer magazine - Top 50 Employers
Entergy was named one of the nation’s Top 50 Employers for 2010 by Minority Engineer magazine. The company placed No. 29 in the ranking on the publication's 18th annual list and is one of only two utilities recognized.

National Eagle Leadership Institute - Annual Leadership Awards
Entergy Corporation and Entergy New Orleans, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Rod West were recently honored by the National Eagle Leadership Institute with its two most prestigious annual leadership awards – the NELI Award and the CareerFOCUS Eagle Award.

The NELI Award was presented to Entergy for its “stellar leadership in corporate responsibility” and in recognition of the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. West was also recognized as one of a select group of business leaders to receive the prestigious CareerFOCUS Eagle Award. This is the nation's premier leadership achievement honor for African-American and Latino professionals who excel in business and community leadership. West is one of 11 individuals across the nation to receive the award this year.

Winrock International’s American Carbon Registry - Utility Excellence Award
Three companies were presented with awards based on the American Carbon Registry’s guiding principles of excellence, quality and innovation. Entergy received the Utility Excellence award, which recognizes a company’s work to transparently report and reduce carbon emissions. The American Carbon Registry was the first private greenhouse gas registry in the U.S. and offers a voluntary offset program with strong standards for environmental integrity.

BusinessWeek - Best Places to Launch a Career
BusinessWeek ranked Entergy #35 on its annual "Best Places to Launch a Career" list.

GovernanceMetrics International 
GovernanceMetrics International, a corporate governance research and ratings agency, has ranked Entergy in the top one percent among the nearly 4,200 companies surveyed for its most recent ratings release. As one of the top 42 companies, Entergy received an overall global rating of 10.0, the highest that GMI assigns. The top-ranking companies were recognized for having best-in-class corporate governance practices.

Dow Jones Sustainability World Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes named Entergy to its exclusive World Index and North American Index. Entergy, which was one of only two U.S. utility companies selected to the World Index, has been named to the DJSI for eight consecutive years.

Rittenhouse Rankings - CEO Candor Survey
J. Wayne Leonard, chairman and chief executive officer of Entergy Corporation, ranks second highest among CEOs for the candor and clarity of his letter to shareholders, according to the latest analysis conducted by Rittenhouse Rankings, Inc. of the annual letters from CEOs of 100 companies listed in the Fortune 500. Leonard is the only utility CEO to have been ranked among the top 25 for seven consecutive years in the survey, which analyzes annual CEO letters and demonstrates a link between the quality of the letter’s content and a company’s performance. Leonard is also one of only three CEOs to make the top five in each of the last three surveys.

Entergy Corporation was recognized as one the Top 10 utilities in North America for its work to support economic development.

Chartwell Inc. - Best Practices Award for Serving Low-Income Customers
Entergy Corporation received Chartwell Inc.’s Best Practices Award for Serving Low-Income Customers for Entergy’s "exceptional" commitment and innovative approach to helping poverty-stricken customers move toward self-sufficiency. Entergy representatives received the award during a Chartwell-sponsored conference on methods utilities can use to help low-income customers. Chartwell provides independent information services to the utility and energy industry.

Institutional Investor magazine - Nation's Best CEOs
J. Wayne Leonard, Entergy Corporation's chairman and chief executive officer, is one of the nation’s “Best CEOs” and among the top five leaders in the power industry, according to rankings compiled by Institutional Investor magazine. It is the sixth consecutive year the prestigious magazine has ranked Leonard among the top CEOs in the nation. He has established a record-setting performance as the only power industry CEO to make the rankings every year since they began in 2004. In addition, Entergy’s investor relations department was named one of the best in the country.

Edison Electric Institute - Emergency Recovery Award and Emergency Assistance Award
Entergy Corporation won two national awards for its work restoring power after hurricanes Gustav and Ike and for helping two utilities recover from severe weather. It is the 11th consecutive year Entergy has received storm response awards from the Edison Electric Institute (EEI).

Entergy received an EEI Emergency Recovery Award for restoring power to more than 1.6 million customers following Gustav and Ike, which struck less than two weeks apart in September 2008. It also received EEI’s Emergency Assistance Award for helping Public Service of Oklahoma following a December 2007 ice storm and AEP Texas after Hurricane Dolly in July 2008.

Entergy is the only company to be honored every year since the EEI Emergency Response Awards were first presented in 1998. Entergy has now won four awards for its efforts restoring power to its own customers and nine awards for assisting other utilities repair their systems.

Entergy Corp. ranked 8th on the Electric and Gas industry list.

Corporate Responsibility Officer Magazine - 10 Best Corporate Citizens
Corporate Responsibility Officer magazine named Entergy Corporation as one of the top ten corporate citizens in the United States. For the second time in three years, Entergy was the highest-ranking utility company on CRO’s honored list.

Storebrand - Best in Class for Environmental and Social Performance
Entergy was honored as Best in Class for environmental and social performance by Storebrand, a Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) financial services company. Only 14 companies were chosen as Best in Class for the 2009 analysis with Entergy being one of only two U.S.-based companies included on the list. Storebrand’s ranking is based on an analysis of 53 companies worldwide that represent the electric utilities industry, independent power producers and energy traders.

The Sustainability Yearbook - 2009 Bronze Class

The Sustainability Yearbook, one of the world's most insightful publications on corporate sustainability and the related challenges and opportunities for companies, recognized Entergy for the 2009 edition. Each year the 2,500 largest companies in the world (as reflected in the Dow Jones Wilshire Global Index) are invited to participate in Sustainable Asset Management's Corporate Sustainability Assessment. Edison Electric Institute's Emergency Assistance Award 
Entergy Corporation received its 10th straight award from the Edison Electric Institute for restoring power following extreme storms. The latest award recognizes Entergy’s help returning power to 46,000 Public Service of Oklahoma customers after a January 2007 ice storm.

Entergy has received either EEI’s Emergency Storm Response or its Emergency Assistance awards for 10 consecutive years. It is the only company to be honored each year since the awards were created. Investment experts have ranked Entergy Corporation among the best companies in the United States – and the very best in the utility industry – for effectiveness of their corporate investor relations programs.

The market research firm Greenwich Associates, which provides research and consulting to global financial-services companies, conducted its annual survey in early 2007 of more than 700 investment analysts. The survey ranks a public company's investor relations efforts against industry peers.

Entergy ranked at the top of the list in the utility industry and finished third of all the approximately 200 public companies across the country receiving 10 or more survey evaluations, the minimum number needed to be included in the rankings.

PR Week - Crisis Communications Award and Overall Public Relations Performance of the Year
For its response to hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Entergy Corporate Communications won PR Week's crisis communications award for 2005 and was also awarded the top prize for overall public relations performance of the year. PR Week praised Entergy’s hurricane communications work as “among the great crisis responses of all time.”

It was the first time any crisis communications honoree had ever won the top award. "A corporation's crisis response depends a great deal on its preparation," the magazine said in a special edition. "But Entergy Corporation was faced with a series of events that few could have anticipated—ones that directly impacted customers, employees and shareholders alike.”

Institutional Investor magazine named Entergy the top electric utility company in the country for effective investor relations communications. Entergy Corporation and its CEO J. Wayne Leonard received top honors at the prestigious Platts/BusinessWeek Global Energy Awards in December 2003. Entergy Corporation was named the "Global Energy Company of the Year," and Leonard was recognized as the energy industry's "CEO of the Year."

This marks the second and third Platts/BusinessWeek Global Energy Award Entergy has won. In 2002, Entergy was named Platts/BusinessWeek's Power Company of the Year for its nuclear growth strategy.

In selecting the Energy Company of the Year, the judges looked for overall excellence in the production of energy. The range and extent of a company's activities--its diversity, scope, technological innovation, and environmental concern--are pivotal for this award, as are the traditional values of care for the consumer and efficiency.

Georgetown University Business Leader of the Year
The undergraduate program of the Robert Emmett McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University named Entergy Corporation's Chief Executive Officer J. Wayne Leonard as the Business Leader of the Year in October 2003. Leonard delivered the keynote speech at the McDonough School’s annual Business Day on the Responsibilities of Leadership. Southeastern Electric Exchange Industry Excellence Awards
Entergy won second place in the distribution category at the recent Southeastern Electric Exchange Industry Excellence 2003 Awards Program for the company’s work developing the Automated Mapping and Facilities Management system.

Entergy won the award on describing the decision to implement a state of the art facility management system that would improve and optimize the process of creating, maintaining and utilizing distribution facilities data. The AM/FM system replaced the problem-plagued process of using multiple manual and computerized systems used to organize and gather distribution data.

Dow Jones Sustainability Index
Entergy successfully met the stringent qualifications and criteria to remain listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for 2004. This is the second year in a row that Entergy has been selected for the listing, and the company is one of only three U.S. electric utilities to be listed on the index.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is similar to other index funds; however, DJSI listed companies must not only demonstrate strong financial performance, but must also show outstanding leadership in environmental and social commitment.

Listing as a DJSI company is a significant achievement in Entergy's quest to be viewed not only as a company with outstanding financial performance, but also as an environmental leader in the utility industry and a company committed to the communities where it does business.

The Remmel Dam power plant received a special award from the state of Arkansas for achieving 50 years without a lost-time accident. Remmel Dam is the first facility in the state to receive such an award.

This award honors federal agency energy management teams for their leadership and efforts to promote and improve federal energy and water management and conservation.

National Energy Resources Organization

Platts/BusinessWeek Global Energy Awards
Recognized as the "Global Power Company of the Year" at the prestigious Platts/BusinessWeek Global Energy Awards held in New York City. The international panel of judges recognized Entergy for its nuclear growth strategy that has created one of the nation's most efficient and safest fleet of nuclear plants. The award also recognized the company's commitment to the environment. The judges recognized that by increasing megawatts and efficiency, production costs and ultimately Entergy's customer costs are reduced; and by increasing the percentage of demand met by nuclear power, Entergy minimizes pollution emissions. Entergy currently owns the second largest fleet of nuclear plants in the U.S.

The Kelley Award, recognizing individual achievement on behalf of low-income families, is the Network's highest accolade. Nearly 25 percent of Entergy's 2.6 million customers qualify for federal assistance to the poor.

Dow Jones Sustainability Index
Entergy successfully met a set of stringent qualifications criteria and was added to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World (DJSI World). As of September, 2002, Entergy is one of only three U.S. utilities among 15 utilities worldwide listed on this 300-company index. Membership on the DJSI is awarded to those companies that score in the top ten percent of eligible companies in terms of economic, environmental and social performance. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection Program, known as VPP, assesses safety performance within an industry. Entergy has 10 VPP Star sites, including Little Gypsy, Waterford 1&2, Waterford 3, Sterlington, Arkansas Nuclear One, River Bend Station, Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, James A. Entergy's fossil operations support group and Lewis Creek Power Station received second place in the production category as a result of innovative welding repairs that saved an estimated $2 million in repair costs.
