Entergy has long been recognized as a business that works with the people whom we serve. In 1987, we became the first electric utility holding company in the nation to commit to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's Fair Share Principles. Since that time, Entergy has logged more than $500 million with minority and women suppliers who provide a wide range of goods and services.

As with any major corporation, we utilize a wide range of goods and services from external sources. Our suppliers provide everything from office supplies to electrical components to construction. Entergy is aware, however, that impending deregulation in the electric utility industry will mean increased competition and a demand for more leveraged purchasing, thus creating more sub-contracting and second-tier opportunities. This makes our Supplier Diversity Program an essential element of our continued success.
