E. Renae Conley - Executive Vice President, Human Resources and
Administration
E. Renae Conley was named executive vice president, human resources and
administration in January 2011. Additionally, she is Entergy’s chief diversity
and inclusion officer and a member of the office of the chief executive.
She had previously served as president and chief executive officer of
Entergy’s Louisiana utilities between 2000 and 2010. Entergy Louisiana, LLC
and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. together serve more than 1 million
customers, and comprise the largest electric utility in the state.
During her tenure running Entergy’s Louisiana utilities, she was responsible
for the companies’ electric transmission and distribution systems, customer
service, regulatory and governmental affairs, and economic development
programs, as well as the companies’ financial performance.
Conley joined Entergy Corporation in 1999 as vice president of investor
relations, where she was responsible for linking Entergy’s strategic vision
with the financial expectations of Wall Street.
Her professional career includes a long list of leadership roles in the
electric utility industry. She served as president of Cincinnati Gas and
Electric Company, a subsidiary of Cinergy Corp. and as president and chief
executive officer of Cadence, a joint venture of Cinergy, New Century Energies
and Florida Progress. At Cinergy, she also was vice president of sales, and
general manager of corporate communications and investor relations. Her wide
background includes work in customer service, accounting, treasury and
investor relations for PSI Energy. In 2004, she was recognized for the second
consecutive year as a Key Woman in Energy in the Americas, a national honor
bestowed on female executives for their contributions to the industry.
In addition to leading the restoration efforts for the Entergy Louisiana
utilities and in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Conley was tapped to
serve on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Disaster Recovery
Foundation. She also led the restoration effort after the back-to-back strikes
of hurricanes Gustav and Ike, which caused more than 830,000 outages to
Entergy Louisiana and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana customers. This was the
fastest and safest restoration in company history.
A respected business leader and advocate for economic development and
education, Conley serves on the board of directors of the New Orleans Branch
of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, The Nature Conservancy of Louisiana’s
Board of Trustees, Ball State School of Business, as well as the LSU E.J.
Ourso College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council.
Conley has a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting and a master’s in
business administration degree, both from Ball State University.
