Bill Mohl - President, Entergy Wholesale Commodities
Bill Mohl has held numerous leadership positions with several different energy companies over the past 32 years, and serves as president of Entergy Wholesale Commodities, headquartered in White Plains, New York, with responsibility for Entergy’s unregulated wholesale power business comprised of approximately 5,000 MW of merchant nuclear generation (primarily located in the Northeastern U.S.) and more than 1,000 MW of fossil and renewable generation resources.
Prior to this role, Mr. Mohl served as the chairman, president and CEO of Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States, LLC from 2010-2013, a role in which he was responsible for all financial, operational and regulatory results associated with these utilities as well as the natural gas distribution businesses in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, LA.
Mohl joined Entergy in 2002 and held several roles between 2002-2007 in which he was responsible for the procurement of limited and long-term fuel and generation resources. In 2007, he was named the vice president of system planning and operations and was responsible for all utility supply planning and operation functions including the strategic resource planning for the Entergy System and the real time dispatch of the generation resources to meet the needs of the Entergy Operating Companies.
Prior to his employment with Entergy, Mohl held several senior leadership roles with Koch Industries Inc. (“KII”) in Houston, Texas from 1995 through 2002, including director of power operations for Koch Energy Trading (“KET”), vice president of KET, chief operating officer for Koch Midstream Services and chief operating officer for Koch Investment Group. From 1982 through 1995, Mohl was employed by Public Service Company of Colorado (“PSCo”) (now an affiliate of Xcel Energy) in Denver, Colorado, where he held a variety of roles in the power system operations and the wholesale market areas.
Bill currently serves on the executive boards of the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and Electric Power Supply Association (EPSA)
Mohl holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and finance and a master’s degree in business administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
