Pre-employment Testing
In today’s competitive business environment, the ability to learn quickly and
perform effectively is more important than ever before. One way that Entergy
has found to identify and assess the abilities and skills needed for certain
jobs is through pre-employment testing.
Our pre-employment tests have been proven to be job-related, fair, objective
and a consistent means to help identify qualified candidates for those jobs.
The tests and associated procedures are administered consistently for all
candidates. We partner with the Edison
Electric Institute (EEI) for several of our employment tests. They include:
-
Clerical Aptitude Test (CAB)
-
Technical Occupations Selection System (Tech)
-
Construction and Skilled Traded Selection System (CAST)
-
Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS)
-
Plant Operator Selection System (POSS)
Users can also access brief informational brochures
for each test, along with test taking tips. (Note there is no brochure for the
Clerical Aptitude Test)
Note: To access the brochures, please use the login name "entergy" and
password "practice test".
Test preparation
Being prepared to take a test is an important part of the testing process. If
you do not feel that you are prepared to take a test on the day you are
scheduled, please reschedule. Following these preparation tips and hints may
improve your chances of qualifying on the test. However, there is no guarantee
that by reading the brochure and the test preparation guide you will qualify.
Note: To access the practice tests, please use the login name "entergy" and
password "practice test".
Entergy also uses the PSI tests for our Customer Service positions. No
Brochure or Practice test is available for this tool.
Retest policy
A minimum of 30 days must elapse between the first and second attempt to
qualify on the same EEI test for all applicants. Employees may not take the
same test more than twice (2 times) in a twelve (12) month time frame.
