Helping individuals and families rebuild their homes and reclaim their lives
Entergy and its employees partnered with nonprofit organizations to help build or rebuild 1,300 single-family or multi-family homes that were destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. Our partners included the St. Bernard Project, Volunteers of America, Preservation Resource Center/Rebuilding Together, Phoenix New Orleans, Make it Right, and Habitat for Humanity. Entergy played a critical role in helping Volunteers of America establish the Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corporation. Entergy provided seed funding and planning grants that enabled VOA and the RNDC to leverage $100 million in public and private funding to build single- or multi- family homes for almost 800 low income families, individuals and seniors in this region.
