Winnie Native ‘Comes Home’ as Entergy Customer Service Manager for Area

Dan Syphrett to Serve Beach Areas, Chambers and Liberty Counties

Beaumont, Texas – Entergy Texas has put a new face on customer service in a large portion of the traditionally more rural areas it serves west of Beaumont between Houston and the beach.

Dan Syphrett, a 29-year Entergy veteran and Winnie native, has been named customer service manager for the Bolivar Peninsula, Chambers and Liberty counties, including the communities of Winnie, Anahuac, Liberty, Dayton, Ames, Daisetta, Hardin and Devers.

“Dan brings a wealth of experience to customers in the area,” said Todd Dunkleberger, regional customer service manager for Entergy Texas. “Plus, he already knows many of the people and places, and is familiar with the customer service issues we need to address.”

Syphrett noted that the area he now serves is experiencing tremendous growth at opposite ends – the beach area for one, and the portions close to Houston at the other.

“I look forward to working developers in those areas, as well as handling the day-in, day-out needs of our customers,” Syphrett said, adding that he will become active in the communities.

An East Chambers High School graduate, Syphrett is also a graduate of Texas A&M University. He previously worked as the customer service manager for Orange, a post he held for 11 years. He began his career at Gulf States Utilities in the legal and claims department and also worked in public affairs and as a superintendent over an area that included Sour Lake and Daisetta.

Syphrett has two sons, Daniel W. Syphrett IV, 23; and Garrett, 21.
