The Pool Pump program provides incentives to distributors who promote the sale and installation of ENERGY STAR® qualified, variable speed pool pumps in existing single-family homes. Entergy Texas does not pay direct incentives to homeowners for this program. Conventional single-speed pool pumps use the same pump speed regardless of the task assigned, wasting energy in the process. Variable speed ENERGY STAR® certified pool pumps use the optimal pump speed – for example, slower speeds for filtration, higher speeds for cleaning – saving you thousands of dollars in energy costs over the lifetime of the product. ENERGY STAR® certified pool pumps:

• Use 70% less energy than conventional single-speed pool pumps.
• Provide savings up to $350 or more per year in energy costs.
• Run quieter and prolong the life of your pool’s filtering system.

How to know when to replace your pool pump:

If your pool pump shows any of these warning signs of wearing out and wasting energy, it could be time to call a pool services contractor:

• Does not seem to be as powerful.
• Continuously makes noise.
• Gets hot and shuts off.
• Hums or buzzes but will not start.
• Starts slowly.

*Single-speed and two-speed pool pumps are not eligible for a rebate.
