Entergy operates more than 40 plants using natural gas, nuclear, coal, oil and
hydroelectric power with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating
capacity. Entergy provides electricity to 2.7 million utility
customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
The company's transmission system
moves about 23,000 megawatts of power across more than 15,500 miles of
interconnected lines in a 112,000 square-mile area.
Entergy owns 10 nuclear reactors,
manages another reactor in Nebraska and, in 2006, announced an agreement to
purchase an 11th
reactor in Michigan.
