Privacy Policy Statement

Entergy Corporation is a holding company for individual public utility companies, among other affiliates. Each of these public utility companies and other affiliates is a separate and distinct legal entity. Each public utility subsidiary of Entergy Corporation has its own service territory, federal and/or state utility regulatory regime(s), rate structure(s), and customers. Neither Entergy Corporation nor any subsidiary or other affiliate of Entergy Corporation shall be liable for the obligations, or entitled to the benefits of, any other subsidiary or affiliate of Entergy Corporation, except as may be expressly provided by a duly authorized and executed, legally enforceable written agreement. The public utility subsidiaries of Entergy Corporation that provide retail electric and/or gas utility services are the following:

• Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C.
• Entergy Louisiana, LLC
• Entergy Mississippi, Inc.

Solely for reasons of convenience, the term “Entergy” is used herein to refer individually and collectively to Entergy Corporation and its affiliates, including but not limited to the public utility companies named above.

We understand how important privacy is to you. We hope this statement will answer your questions about our privacy policy. 

1. The Information We Collect Online

In addition to Personal Information (as defined below) collected in connection with the use of the Web Services, we collect information that is volunteered by those who use the Entergy Web site (“users”), including, but not limited to, survey information, site registrations, names, addresses, and e-mail addresses. We may use this information to notify users about updates or changes to our Web site. We may also collect information that allows us to determine exactly which of Entergy’s Web pages you visit, when, for how long, and how you interact with such Web pages. For example, we may collect information that tells us how long you spent on a certain page, what information you supplied, or what boxes you checked or did not check. We may use this information for a number of purposes that include, but are not limited to, revising our screen layout to make it more user-friendly, diagnosing user problems, supporting our training efforts, or documenting your interaction with the Web site. Other than Personal Information (as defined below) collected in connection with the use of the Web Services, any information we collect online (including but not limited to your e-mail address, postal address, and phone number) is not shared with other organizations for commercial or marketing purposes. Entergy’s use of Personal Information is described below. We also collect aggregate information on which pages of our Web site users access more often in order to improve our Web site based on up-to-date usage patterns.

2. Resumes

We do not disclose information contained in resumes of job applicants to third parties, except to administer the processing of such resumes. We also do not disclose information contained in resumes internally, except on a need-to-know basis.

3. E-Mail

Our Web server does not automatically recognize or record the domain name or e-mail address of visitors to our Web site. Users who voluntarily supply their e-mail addresses on-line may receive periodic e-mail messages from Entergy with information on new products and services or upcoming events or news that may be of interest. If you do not want to receive such e-mail from Entergy in the future (except with respect to communications in connection with your Entergy account or your request for service), please let us know by clicking here and telling us that you do not want to receive these types of e-mail messages. We will make reasonable efforts to comply with such requests. Entergy does not make user e-mail addresses available to other organizations except in connection with administering your Entergy account or request for service. 

4. Mailings

Users who supply their postal addresses on-line may receive periodic mailings from Entergy with information on new products and services or upcoming events or news that may be of interest. If you do not want to receive such mailings from Entergy in the future (except with respect to your Entergy account or request for service), please let us know by clicking here and telling us that you do not want to receive these types of mailings. We will make reasonable efforts to comply with such requests.

5. Telephone

Users who supply their telephone numbers on-line may receive telephone calls from Entergy with information on new products and services or upcoming events or news that may be of interest. If you do not want to receive such telephone calls from Entergy in the future (except with respect to your Entergy account or request for service), please let us know by clicking here and telling us that you do not want to receive these types of telephone calls. We will make reasonable efforts to comply with such requests.

6. Personal Information Provided in Connection with the Web Services

In connection with your use of the Web Services, you may provide personal information to Entergy and, in turn, be provided with a password that you create. The term “Personal Information” refers to a user’s name, address, e-mail address, phone number, fax number, tax identification number, social security number, bank name and account number, credit card number and credit card provider, Entergy utility account number, and user password. Each user shall be responsible for the use, security, and safeguarding of such user’s identification, passwords, Entergy account information, and other Personal Information. Entergy shall have no responsibility for damages resulting from the theft or unauthorized use of a user’s identification, password, Entergy account information, or other Personal Information, Entergy will not intentionally disclose to third parties your identity, Entergy account information, or other Personal Information, except under the following circumstances:

• when and to the extent necessary to complete a transaction, service your account, provide a Web Service requested by you, or otherwise to communicate with you about your account or request for service;
• when otherwise authorized by you;
• when necessary to comply with an order of a government agency or court, when requested by a government regulator, or as otherwise required by law;
• to protect the security of the Web site;
• to the purchaser in connection with the sale, assignment, or other transfer of all or part of our business or company.

Some parts of this Web site use cookies. A cookie is an extremely small text file that is stored on your computer and created to track specific information that can later be retrieved and read only by the same site that created the cookie, and cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. Our Web site uses cookies to store some information that you enter in order to provide you with the best experience possible. Except for Personal Information provided by Entergy’s customers in connection with the Web Services, or unless otherwise specifically noted by us, any other information or material sent to us on an unsolicited basis will be deemed NOT to be confidential. Except for information provided by Entergy’s customers in connection with the use of Web Services, by sending Entergy any information or material on an unsolicited basis by e-mail or otherwise, you grant Entergy an unrestricted, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, display, perform, modify, transmit and distribute such information or materials, and you also agree that Entergy is free to use for any purpose any ideas, concepts, know-how, or techniques that you send us on an unsolicited basis. 

7. Data Security

Transmissions over the Internet are never completely secure or error-free. Because of this, we can not and do not guarantee the security, accuracy, or completeness of Personal Information that you supply to us. However, we maintain reasonable security procedures and system safeguards to protect Personal Information against destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized access or disclosure.
