What’s the best way to work around  those power lines?

The best way to work around power  lines is to keep your distance. Stay away from power lines!

Working Near Power Lines

Keep Your Distance

Working around a power line can result in serious injury or death. Assume all power lines are energized, not insulated and dangerous!

Downed Power Lines

Always assume low and downed power lines are energized, not insulated and dangerous.

Never attempt to move any power line. You can be seriously hurt or killed if the object you are holding or standing on contacts any power line. Stay away.

Call 911 and 1-800-ENTERGY (1-800-368-3749).

You must notify Entergy at least two working days before any work is to be done where it is possible that equipment, material or a person could come within 20 feet of our lines. It’s the law. To contact Entergy, call 1-800-ENTERGY (1-800-368-3749).

It’s The Law

Federal and state laws prohibit working within specified distances of power lines. Do not, under any circumstances, move a piece of equipment, material or a person within the restricted area of a power line unless the power line has been de-energized and grounded.

OSHA: Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, mandates specific clearance distances that must be maintained when working around or near power lines.

STATE LAWS: States have mandated specific clearance distances that must be maintained when working around or near power lines.
