For the last 11 years, Entergy Arkansas Senior Lineman Dustin Bowen has been working hard to ensure customers in south Arkansas have reliable power. Bowen currently works in the Fordyce office, serving the Warren network for Entergy Arkansas.

Saints victory tops off great experience for Lineman of the Game

As an Entergy Mississippi lineman, Ronnie Williams is accustomed to helping others. He helps keep electricity flowing for customers every day and has also participated in restoring power after storms such as Hurricane Laura, the Rolling Fork tornado, the Southaven ice storm and several thunderstorms in the state. He has an outstanding safety record and is committed to his personal safety and the safety of his co-workers. He also helps mentor younger linemen.

Specialized Entergy crews called “barehand crews” have helped keep the lights on for Louisiana residents and businesses throughout a historically hot summer by safely performing work on energized power lines.

Entergy Texas Lineman of the Game Nathan Odle scores successfully in safety and teamwork

Nathan Odle will be recognized as Entergy Texas’ Lineman of the Game at the start of the Saints vs. Texans match up in New Orleans on August 27. For each New Orleans Saints home game in the 2023 season and pre-season, Entergy and the Saints recognize an Entergy employee from operations during the game for outstanding performance on the job and in the community.

Thank a lineworker today

Today, we take the opportunity to recognize the commitment and sacrifice made by lineworkers across the country to power our communities. Entergy joins the Edison Electric Institute, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and other industry groups in observing National Lineworker Appreciation Day on July 10, which also honors the life and work of Henry Miller, the first president of IBEW.

Calm under pressure

Remaining calm under pressure took on a new meaning for Entergy New Orleans lineworker Jereme Pierre when he stopped by a local sandwich shop in Marrero for a quick bite to eat. Jereme, a former lifeguard, had recently completed CPR training again at Entergy to refresh the life-saving skill, when he heard an older adult nearby start coughing. The two made eye contact, but the group of friends around the coughing man indicated that this might be a regular occurrence.

Hooker scores points at work, in the community to win Lineman of the Game honors

Entergy Mississippi Shift Serviceman Terry Hooker from the Indianola network has some 22 years’ experience helping keep the lights on in Mississippi. His hard work, focus on safety and mentorship of newer lineman has earned the veteran ‘Lineman of the Game’ honors. Hooker will take it all in when the New Orleans Saints battle their bitter rivals, the Dirty Birds (AKA the Atlanta Falcons), in the Superdome on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Who dat named Saints’ Lineman of the Game? Vince Burgess dat!

When the New Orleans Saints are home in the ‘dome this Saturday, Oct. 9, Entergy Mississippi line worker Vince Burgess will be in the house to watch the team take on the Seattle Seahawks and to be honored as the Entergy Lineman of the Game.

Lineworker Boot Camp provides ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity for new hires

Entergy Arkansas lineworkers are unsung heroes who build, maintain and repair the electrical grid to help power homes and businesses in the community no matter the weather conditions. Lineworkers are a close-knit group and often refer to themselves as being part of a family, and nine apprentice lineworkers join this family this month after recently graduating from the summer 2022 Lineworker’s Boot Camp.

Helping on a moment’s notice

The sight of emergency services arriving on the scene of an accident on July 10 brought great relief to bystanders, as Aaron Morehead finished tying off the end of a 100-foot hand line to his service truck. On other end of the rope, which would normally be used while the Entergy New Orleans lineman is working high in the air on a utility pole, was instead providing a lifeline for a truck driver whose vehicle had crashed into Lake Pontchartrain.
