Entergy Arkansas Prepping for Winter Storm; Outages Likely
As Winter Storm Landon rapidly closes in on the state, Entergy Arkansas encourages customers to prepare for outages due to freezing rain and ice accumulation likely to affect the service area.

We’re monitoring the approaching winter storm closely. While rain and freezing temperatures are forecast for the majority of our service area, we are preparing to move additional crews to northwest Mississippi in the event customers in that area experience outages due to the forecasted ice. We are prepared to call in additional crews if needed.

Entergy Arkansas is staging crews, equipment and supplies in areas of the state likely to be the hardest hit later this week based on a forecast for bitter cold, sustained winds, sleet, freezing rain, snow and ice accumulations.

Entergy Mississippi Storm Update – 8/29/21 @ 2:30 p.m.
As Hurricane Ida pushes into our service area, we are prepared for the significant threat of high winds and flash flooding. A prolonged period of high winds and heavy rain increases the potential for extended power outages. We expect the restoration effort to take several days and up to a week or more in our hardest hit areas.

Entergy Mississippi Storm Update – 8/28/21 @ 1 p.m.
Entergy Mississippi is preparing for severe weather due to Hurricane Ida which may cause power outages throughout our service territory. Thunderstorms, heavy rains and high winds are expected to impact the service territory Sunday and Monday. Due to the predicted severity of the storm, widespread outages are possible, and restoration could be extended. We are working to ensure we have the people and resources to respond to outages safely. Crews are ready to respond quickly and safely.

Entergy’s restoration workforce supported its communities through one of the most active hurricane seasons in history in 2020. We are ready to respond again if needed during what forecasters predict will be another active season.

Entergy Arkansas Prepares for Possible Winter Storm Beginning Tonight
Forecasts call for rain, freezing rain and sleet over a large portion of the state in the next 48 hours, and Entergy Arkansas is prepping for potential outages. Those areas are likely to see ice accumulations, ranging from one-eighth to one-half inch, with below freezing temperatures and very low wind chills through Saturday.

Entergy Arkansas Prepares for Laura’s Arrival
Hurricane Laura is predicted to strengthen as it moves through the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to impact Entergy Arkansas customers starting Thursday. We are prepared for severe weather and working to ensure we have the people, crews and resources ready to respond to outages quickly and safely, while practicing social distancing measures needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the additional measures our crews must take, restoration may take longer, especially where there are widespread outages. We recommend customers prepare as well.
