Every year, Entergy New Orleans celebrates Black Energy Awareness Month (B.E.A.M.)by honoring the invaluable contributions of minorities to the energy industry and highlighting the critical role energy plays in daily life. This year, we partnered with the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) and other local organizations to bring the Power Circuit Tour to students at Lake Forest Charter School. The event sparked students’ curiosity in energy-related careers and offered them insights into the diverse pathways available within the energy sector.

Part of the mission of Entergy Arkansas is to address the needs for quality education across the state, and providing a grant to make the McRae Elementary School’s playground more accessible was a natural fit for the Entergy Charitable Foundation.

New Orleans residents face a pressing challenge – our hot, humid climate demands energy-intensive cooling, and the city’s aging buildings can contribute to energy waste. This combination leads to higher utility bills, placing a significant financial burden on households. Effective energy efficiency programs can help address these challenges.
