We’re strengthening the power grid to withstand more frequent and severe storms

Our customers and communities depend on us to deliver reliable energy service to help power their daily lives. And building a more resilient power grid is a year-round effort that we’ve been focused on for decades, including investing more than $10 billion on strengthening transmission and distribution electric infrastructure over the last five years.

Now, we’re adapting to meet changing needs and address the threat of severe weather that has been impacting our region with increased strength and greater frequency. We have a plan to accelerate investment for added resilience to the grid and we are having conversations with regulators and other stakeholders to help make our communities more resilient.

Building electrical infrastructure strong enough to withstand the increased strength and frequency of storms is an important decision that must balance affordability, reliability and sustainability. The need today is for accelerated implementation of such enhancements to reduce risk to our customers and communities.

We’re helping our customers achieve their desired outcomes

We are partnering with our customers to develop innovative energy solutions to help our customers meet their environmental goals. To meet customer demand for clean energy capacity, we see the potential for up to 17 gigawatts of renewable energy generation in our portfolio by 2031.

Customers can save energy and money through a variety of energy efficiency programs and incentives that we offer for homes and businesses. Our green tariff programs give customers the flexibility to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions through renewable power credits. And our electrification solutions allow customers to lower their emissions and reduce fuel and maintenance costs while relying on Entergy’s power grid for clean electricity at rates well below the national average.

Clean energy future

We’re building a cleaner, sustainable energy future for everyone

We are actively working toward a clean energy future for our customers and communities. We are doing our part by operating one of the cleanest large-scale power generating fleets in the United States. But we’re not resting there. We are committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Over the next three decades and setting short-term targets along the way, we will work to reduce carbon emissions from all our operations as low as possible.

We’re also partnering with our customers to help them achieve their own environmental goals. Our 2050 climate commitment includes all of Entergy’s businesses, all greenhouse gases and all scopes of greenhouse gas emissions.
