This summer, Entergy Mississippi introduced four high school students to what their future could look like with the “Jobs for Youths” high school internship pilot. The program was developed by George Cossar, customer service representative, Bobby Shipp, line supervisor, and Anna Hughes, regional sourcing recruiter, and focused on students in the northern region. “We wanted to give students the opportunity to see what a great company Entergy is to work for,” said Hughes. “This helps them understand the many career opportunities available to them after they complete technical school or college. An added plus for the students is that the internship will look great on their résumés!”The six-week long internships had the students primarily assisting the storeroom manager. In addition to learning about how the company works and what the materials are, the interns had time to shadow employees who worked in their fields of interest.
