Entergy Texas customer service managers Dashuan Armstrong (Port Arthur) and Corrin Barrow (Conroe) know what it means to put our customers first.

Customer Service Week, a national celebration held Oct. 6–10, is a time to honor the dedicated employees who work each day to support customers and communities. At Entergy, being customer-centric isn’t just a value, it’s the heart of everything we do. Our customers are the “why” behind our mission to keep the lights on, fueling our commitment to deliver safe, reliable and affordable power every day. This week, we’re proud to spotlight two Entergy Texas customer service managers whose hard work and passion embody what it means to put customers first.

Dashuan Armstrong, customer service manager – Port Arthur, Texas

Dashuan Armstrong joined Entergy in 2023 after more than a decade of leadership as a Target store manager and eight years of military service. His background gave him discipline, and the ability to relate to people from all walks of life—skills that have allowed him to thrive in his customer service role.

“Every day is different,” Armstrong said. “You never know what you’re going to run into, but the goal is always the same, find a solution.”

What he enjoys most is helping people. Whether it’s solving problems over the phone or lending support in the community, Armstrong takes pride in the smiles that come when a difficult situation turns into a positive one. For him, the key to success is knowing how to multitask, listen and understand different perspectives.

“The best advice I’ve received is to not take things personally,” Armstrong shared. “When customers reach out, they may be frustrated, but it’s not about you, it’s about their situation. If you listen, and show you’re there to help, you can turn that frustration into trust.”

Corrin Barrow, customer service manager – Conroe, Texas

Corrin Barrow has been with Entergy Texas for seven years, spending much of that time in public affairs before stepping into a leadership role as customer service manager in 2024. For her, the best part of being in customer service is working with people across departments while building strong relationships with customers and the community.

“Sometimes people just need that one person who will help push things through,” she explained.

Barrow shared a recent storm incident where an elderly couple was trapped after a tree fell onto a power line across their driveway. When a community leader called, she quickly connected with the right teams, getting a crew on-site to clear the debris. For Barrow, it was a reminder of the impact her role can have.

“At the end of the day, our job is about people,” said Barrow. “When you can make someone’s day better, even in a small way, that’s what makes the work worth it.”

Customer Service Week is a reminder that behind every phone call, outage update and community partnership are dedicated employees like Armstrong and Barrow who put people first. Their stories reflect the commitment shared across Entergy Texas to serve with empathy, reliability and care.

“As we recognize Customer Service Week, it’s important to remember that great customer service is about more than solving problems, it’s about building trust and lasting relationships,” said Stuart Barrett, vice president of customer service for Entergy Texas. “I’m grateful to our teams who show up every day to make a difference for our customers.”
