Every year, Entergy Arkansas invests in the communities it serves because powering life means more than delivering electricity, it means creating opportunities for people to thrive.

As part of that commitment, the company awarded more than $2.1 million in grants to more than 420 nonprofit partners and community organizations in 2025, supporting programs that strengthen communities, improve quality of life and help power the next generation of Arkansas.

One of those organizations is Hope Landing in El Dorado. Their mission: every child deserves the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. At Hope Landing, approximately 700 children receive more than 30,000 physical, occupational, speech, equine and aquatic therapy sessions each year. Every visit is another opportunity to grow stronger, become more confident and achieve what once seemed impossible.

“It’s so rewarding to see these kids inside and out here get on a horse and overcome their fears, their insecurities, their sensory deficits and hearing their first words on a horse,” said Kaitlin Coston, Hope Landing equine therapist.

Since 2019, Entergy Arkansas has supported Hope Landing’s equestrian therapy program, helping ensure children from across south Arkansas and neighboring states have access to specialized therapies that can change lives.

For Entergy Arkansas Customer Service Region Manager Chris Wasson, that mission became deeply personal. After his son, Rhett, was diagnosed with special needs, his family turned to Hope Landing for therapy, never imagining that the organization his company had supported for years would one day become part of their own story.

“We’ve seen him take leaps and bounds in terms of his ability to do different things,” Chris said.

One milestone, in particular, still stands out.

“When he first came to Hope Landing, he couldn’t step over a threshold that was a couple of inches high,” Chris said.

As therapy continued, that small obstacle became another victory.

“At our house we have a little playground with a border around it and it’s about four to six inches high and it wasn’t long later he was able to step over that by himself. While it seems small to us, it was big for him,” Chris said.

Hope Landing’s impact reaches far beyond physical milestones.

“They teach him to overcome obstacles both figuratively and literally. It’s been tremendous to see his growth here,” Chris said.

With each step, word and challenge conquered, Chris said it’s meaningful to see the missions of Hope Landing and Entergy Arkansas come together.

“Hope Landing’s vision is to give hope and a purpose to children with different abilities and help them reach their God-given potential. Entergy’s vision is we power life. My family has seen both of those visions interconnect,” he said.

By investing in organizations like Hope Landing, Entergy Arkansas is helping children build the confidence, independence and opportunities they need to thrive—creating stronger communities today while helping power the next generation of Arkansas for years to come.
