A recently completed reliability project in Wrightsville is helping strengthen the electric system and improve reliability for customers in the area.

The work included replacing 12 poles and upgrading transformers and equipment designed to create a stronger and more resilient system. Investments like these are intended to help improve day-to-day reliability and better prepare the system to withstand severe weather.

Bryce Wooldridge, Entergy Arkansas journeyman lineman, said the project focused on building a better system for the community.

“We are going through and upgrading the system through here, changing out poles and upgrading our transformers and equipment,” Wooldridge said. “We are building it better and stronger.”

As part of Entergy Arkansas’s Next Generation Arkansas vision, Better Power is a key pillar aimed at improving reliability across the state. The initiative aims to cut outages by at least 30% in the coming years through system upgrades, infrastructure improvements and other investments such as deploying new, advanced technology tools that will help spot problems faster to improve power quality for decades to come.

Entergy Arkansas is also actively rolling out reliability improvements across the state by increasing vegetation investments that will keep power lines clear. By implementing these enhancements in multiple regions, the company is demonstrating its commitment to delivering dependable service and supporting the long-term needs of Arkansas residents.

Projects like Wrightsville play an important role in helping achieve that goal.

“These upgrades make our system stronger and help us keep the power on when a storm moves through,” Wooldridge said.

For Wooldridge, projects like this represent more than infrastructure work — they are an opportunity to directly impact customers and communities.

“It’s an honor to do work that serves our customers and communities,” Wooldridge said. “There’s a lot of pride in knowing the work you complete today can help someone keep their lights on tomorrow.”

While the project is complete, the long-term benefits are designed to continue serving the next generation of customers.
