Dan Falstad

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Dan Falstad is senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Entergy, where he provides legal counsel to the chair and CEO, board of directors and senior management and leads Entergy’s legal department. He also oversees the company’s ethics and compliance group.  Falstad leads a team committed to advancing Entergy’s growth strategy while ensuring affordability for customers. He also serves as secretary for the company and its operating company subsidiaries, serving as the company’s liaison between the board of directors, management and shareholders and ensuring corporate governance best practices.

Before being named general counsel, Falstad served as vice president, deputy general counsel and secretary, where he counseled senior management in corporate governance, corporate disclosure, SEC reporting and other corporate law matters and led Entergy’s legal department.

Prior to joining Entergy in 2009, Falstad had a wide-ranging corporate and securities law practice including corporate governance, securities compliance, capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other complex corporate transactions. Following a judicial clerkship, Falstad practiced corporate and securities law and was a partner with Troutman Pepper Locke, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton and DLA Piper in Atlanta, Georgia.

He currently serves as the president of the board of directors of the New Orleans Ballet Theater.

Falstad received his juris doctorate from Yale Law School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Duke University.
