Entergy receives EEI Emergency Response Award for mutual assistance work after Hurricane Ian

The Edison Electric Institute has awarded Entergy with its Emergency Assistance Award for sending crews to assist in restoration efforts following Hurricane Ian, which made landfall Sept. 28, 2022, as a Category 4 storm along the western coastline of Florida. Ian proved to be one of the strongest storms to hit Florida since 1935 before moving into other U.S. states causing a tremendous trail of damage.

The company was recognized for its outstanding power restoration efforts supporting Duke Energy following a severe winter storm in January.

Entergy Mississippi Winter Storm Update – 2/4/22, 1:15 p.m.

Our crews continue their restoration efforts in north Mississippi and have restored power to more than half of the 10,203 customers who were affected by this latest winter storm. As of 1:15 p.m., we have 3,528 outages, with the majority of those in DeSoto County. We are still assessing in some areas and expect to be 100% assessed by the end of the day, assuming no new weather-related outages.  We anticipate being able to restore the vast majority of outages in Tunica by 10:00 p.m. tonight, but may have a few carry over to Saturday.

Entergy Mississippi Winter Storm Update – 2/3/22, 7 p.m.

As of 7 p.m., Entergy Mississippi has approximately 5,300 customers without power with the majority of those customers being in Desoto and Tunica counties. We also have some 800 field workers dedicated to restoring power to these customers, including Entergy Mississippi employees, contractors and crews from five additional states.

Entergy Mississippi Storm Update – 8/29/21 @ 2:30 p.m.

As Hurricane Ida pushes into our service area, we are prepared for the significant threat of high winds and flash flooding. A prolonged period of high winds and heavy rain increases the potential for extended power outages. We expect the restoration effort to take several days and up to a week or more in our hardest hit areas.
