Entergy Louisiana Winter Storm Update – 2/19/21 @ 9 p.m.
Entergy Louisiana’s crews and contractors made significant progress Friday restoring power to customers affected by winter storms that brought damaging freezing rain and ice to the southern, central and northern regions of the state.
Demand Slowly Falling from Shortfalls Seen Earlier This Week
Extreme temperatures combined with winter precipitation created levels of electricity demand periodically exceeding the supply across Entergy’s four-state service territory earlier this week.

Entergy Mississippi Winter Storm Update – 2/19/21 @ 10 a.m.
As of 7 a.m., about 55,000 Entergy Mississippi customers remain without power as a result of Wednesday’s winter weather, down from a peak of approximately 90,000. We have brought in more resources and, along with our own workforce, more than 1,800 lineworkers, vegetation workers, damage assessors and support personnel are restoring power as quickly and safely as possible.

Entergy Arkansas Winter Storm Update – 2/19/21 @ 8 a.m.
As of 8 a.m., there are approximately 690 customers without power. Cold weather continues today as temperatures are expected to remain at or below freezing until Saturday. Saturday temperatures will be warming into the 30s and 40s for highs, but lows will return to below freezing Saturday night. We have all active resources engaged in restoration efforts. We are responding to outages quickly and as safely as possible when they occur. Our team will continue to practice social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this may slow restoration work.

Second Winter Storm in a Week Impacting Customers in Central, North Louisiana
Entergy Mississippi Winter Storm Update – 2/18/21 @ 8 p.m.
Ice accumulation on trees and power lines from Wednesday’s wave of winter weather continue causing significant power outages for customers across Entergy Mississippi’s service territory. Jackson, Mississippi has surpassed 100 consecutive hours of being below 32 degrees, which places this extreme weather event in the top five prolonged periods of freezing temperatures in the Jackson area.

Extreme cold winter weather continues today, and temperatures are expected to remain at or below freezing until Saturday. As of 5 p.m., there are approximately 295 customers without power. We have resources engaged in restoration efforts. We are responding to outages quickly and as safely as possible when they occur. Our team will continue to practice social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this may slow restoration work.
Entergy System Winter Storm Update – 2/18/21 @ 11 a.m.
A mix of ice and snow continues pushing through our service territory, causing new power outages for our customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. Unfortunately, the inclement weather increased power outages by more than 72,000 in the last 24 hours.
