nnnnToday, Hurricane Laura is expected to impact Entergy Arkansas customers with 40-50 mph winds and wind gusts up to 65 mph in the southernmost counties of the state.  There will be heavy flooding rainfall of 4-8 inches with locally higher amounts possible and major flooding is expected. There is also the chance of isolated tornados but due to the nature of the storm they are not able to forecast where or when. Forecasts indicate Laura will impact Southern Arkansas Thursday at noon and further into the state later in the day, causing power outages from tropical storm-force winds, tornadoes, additional thunderstorms, heavy rain and flash flooding, which could lead to days-long outages.

Potential Tropical Weather Event

Entergy is enlarging its storm team to respond to any impacts across Louisiana from tropical storms Marco and Laura. The company is assembling a restoration workforce of approximately 3,800 workers and continues to acquire more as forecasts for Laura indicate a potential Louisiana landfall.
