Entergy Arkansas offers generous support for Ozarka Technical Center

MOUNTAIN VIEW, AR – Ozarka College Foundation recently received a $100,000 commitment from Entergy Arkansas. The significant Entergy investment will be used to support Ozarka’s Technical Center expansion in Mountain View. Specifically, the gift will support electrical upgrades and the construction of a new outdoor welding lab. The contribution also secures Entergy as naming sponsor of the newly renovated construction lab.  

Powering the future

Every year, Entergy New Orleans celebrates Black Energy Awareness Month (B.E.A.M.)by honoring the invaluable contributions of minorities to the energy industry and highlighting the critical role energy plays in daily life. This year, we partnered with the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) and other local organizations to bring the Power Circuit Tour to students at Lake Forest Charter School. The event sparked students’ curiosity in energy-related careers and offered them insights into the diverse pathways available within the energy sector.

Entergy awards $2M grant to Jackson State University for Power Grid Security Lab

Jackson State University is the recipient of a $2 million grant from the Entergy Charitable Foundation to help fund the creation of the Critical Power Grid Network Security Lab. Power Players pilot program welcomes MSU football players

Linemen of a different game recently toured Entergy facilities by way of a new collaborative effort between Workforce Development and Procurement and Supply Chain. The Power Players program welcomed student-athletes from the Mississippi State University football team, with the goal of exposing them to the company’s landscape, intimately meeting with leaders, and discussing their journeys after graduation. They’re the first group to experience the pilot program.

New Orleans-area students gain education funding for tech-related studynEntergy’s information technology department announces its second cohort of scholarship recipients of the Entergy Technology Scholarship for the 2024-25 academic year. Renee Anderson, Roderick Burke and Roi Dupart, all of the New Orleans metro area, will receive a $4,000 scholarship, funded by Entergy shareholders, toward their college degrees.
