Entergy remains prepared as hurricane season enters high gear

We are now in the busiest phase of hurricane season, with the weeks of late August into mid-September historically delivering the majority of major storms impacting the United States. Even in the “slowest” of seasons, it only takes a single major named storm to upend the lives of millions of people across our area. We continue to encourage everyone to stay vigilant and have plans in place now to deal with any tropical system that may come our way.

Always ready: Entergy’s mobile command center

This year, if needed, our mobile command center is ready to assist in restoration efforts should a tropical system hit our area. The response vehicle can operate at or near the most impacted location a disaster area, with satellite-based communications equipment giving our operations personnel a link to the outside world when oftentimes such capabilities have been knocked offline.

Entergy is ready for a potentially active hurricane season

Hurricane season starts June 1 with predictions of more than a dozen named storms in the Atlantic Basin.nWe prepare for the worst of what Mother Nature might bring, because our customers live in areas prone to some of the most severe weather in the country. Weather is impacting our region with increased strength and frequency, and recent major storms in our area and along the Gulf Coast remind us of the need for vigilance.
