A warm bowl of red beans and rice is the ultimate comfort food. While we can prepare this regional favorite any time we have a craving for it, many of our customers struggle to feed their families each day. Extra Table, one of our community partners, is working hard to fight hunger in our communities and Entergy Mississippi team members love to pitch in and help.
When picturing renewable energy sources like wind, solar and hydroelectric power, it’s easy to first think of wide-open plains, cloudless desert skies and archway dams bordered by craggy overlooks and mountain passes.

As extreme cold affects the state this week, Entergy Mississippi is working hard to make sure customers can stay warm and safe. Snow, freezing rain, and/or accumulations of ice are possible for many parts of our service area today, followed by an extended period of extremely low temperatures over the next few days. Power restoration during extreme cold can take longer due to increased demands on equipment, people and resources. We have crews available and equipped to respond to outages across our service territory as safely and quickly as possible. Safety is our core value and always comes first.
While restoring power outages caused by severe weather and high winds that moved through the state Friday, Entergy Mississippi has also been monitoring and is prepared to respond to another major weather event expected across our service territory early this week.
