Significant progress has been made in outage restoration from the overnight thunderstorms. At the peak that occurred at 9:15 p.m. last night, we had 5.514 customers without power. As of 6:00 p.m., approximately 1,085 customers are without power from this event.

Entergy Mississippi is proud to announce its Power Your Future Scholarship program is now open for applications until May 7, designed to support current college undergraduates pursuing eligible technology majors who plan to further their education at designated select Historically Black Colleges or Universities or minority-serving institutions within Mississippi. The program will award up to 30 scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000, funded by Entergy shareholders.
Entergy Mississippi has successfully completed restoring power to all customers whose homes and businesses could safety take electricity following this weekend’s severe weather. We are also monitoring the additional severe weather and preparing for the possibility that more storms could affect customers across our service area throughout this week, as soon as this evening.
Significant progress has been made in outage restoration from the severe thunderstorms with high winds and heavy rain that moved through the Entergy Mississippi service territory Friday night, early Saturday morning and again this morning. In total with this morning’s round of weather, approximately 33,300 outages have occurred during this weather front with approximately 93% restored.
As of 9:30 a.m., approximately 6,554 customers are without power, down from a peak of 25,478 that occurred at 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning. In total with the latest round of weather, approximately 33,300 outages have occurred during this weather front with approximately 78% restored.
Severe thunderstorms with high winds and heavy rain moved through the Entergy Mississippi service territory last night and early morning resulting in widespread customer outages. As of 4:30 p.m., approximately 9,975 customers are without power, down from a peak of 25,478 that occurred at 4:00 a.m. this morning. With the widespread outages and damage, some customers will carry overnight.
