Entergy served as title sponsor of the 13th annual Red Stick Rumble, held September 19 at Denham Springs High School. Entergy employees volunteered and served as judges, supporting student robotics teams from Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

Hosted by Denham Springs High School’s Denham Venom Robotics Team, the competition challenged students to apply engineering, programming and problem-solving skills. Teams competed in alliances under the rules of the 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition game, REBUILT℠ presented by Haas, using robots to collect and score game pieces and complete an endgame climb.

Louis Gruntz, a manager in corporate aviation at Entergy, has participated in the event for several years as a volunteer, judge and coach.

“The Red Stick Rumble gives students an opportunity to put what they have learned into practice while working together under the demands of competition,” Gruntz said. “As a coach, volunteer and judge, I’ve seen their dedication and growth firsthand. I’m proud that Entergy supports an event that helps students build skills they can carry into future careers.”

Since its inception in 2013, the Red Stick Rumble has brought students from across the southern United States together to test ideas, learn from one another and develop skills beyond robotics. Entergy’s sponsorship reflects its commitment to STEM education and workforce development.

“Every team represents the kind of technical talent our state needs,” said Seth M. Schilling, manager, region customer service, Entergy Louisiana. “Investing in STEM means investing in the workforce that will power Louisiana’s future.”
