From restoring wetlands and strengthening coastal resilience to improving energy efficiency and planting more trees in Southeast Texas communities, Entergy Texas is investing in projects that help protect the environment and strengthen the places our customers call home.

Since 2021, Entergy Texas has contributed more than $1 million through our Environmental Initiatives Fund to support environmental projects across Texas. The shareholder-funded EIF, created in 2001, partners with local organizations on projects designed to deliver meaningful environmental and community benefits.

One of those partnerships came to life this spring along the Trinity River in Liberty County.

Entergy Texas provided $20,000 to the Liberty County Office of Emergency Management to support efforts to restore and reclaim wetlands and help manage community cleanup efforts. In April, Entergy Texas employees joined Liberty County officials, first responders and community volunteers for a cleanup along the Trinity River and surrounding riverbank.

Together, volunteers removed nearly two tons of debris, helping beautify the area and protect a waterway that plays an important role in the region.

“Protecting the environment and strengthening our communities go hand in hand,” said Abby Weaver, vice president of business operations and strategy for Entergy Texas. “The Environmental Initiatives Fund gives us an opportunity to work alongside organizations that understand the unique needs of the communities we serve. These partnerships are creating benefits that will last well beyond any single project.”

The Trinity River project is one example of how the Environmental Initiatives Fund is supporting locally driven solutions across Southeast Texas.

In 2025, the Environmental Initiatives Fund also provided $80,000 to the Montgomery County Food Bank to modernize its HVAC system. The improvements will help the organization use energy more efficiently while continuing its mission of providing food to families throughout Montgomery County.

Another $125,000 investment supported the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s Texas Resilience Project. The funding helps leverage federal and private investments to advance nature-based solutions in eastern Texas that can reduce risks from coastal hazards while improving habitat for fish and wildlife.

Entergy Corp. also continued its partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation through the Energy-Saving Trees program. The systemwide initiative helps residential customers plant the right trees in the right places, providing 1,000 customers with free trees while supporting environmental benefits that can grow for years to come.

These investments build on years of Environmental Initiatives Fund partnerships in Texas. In just the last five years, Entergy Texas, through the Environmental Initiatives Fund, has supported projects including coastal and wildlife habitat restoration with the Houston Audubon Society, longleaf pine habitat and resilience work with The Nature Conservancy, monarch and pollinator habitat projects, LED lighting upgrades, electrification projects and an electric transit bus.

While the projects vary in size, they share a common goal: working with organizations that know their communities to create lasting environmental benefits.

Through the Environmental Initiatives Fund, Entergy Texas will continue working alongside local partners to support cleaner, stronger and more resilient communities across Southeast Texas.
