For Adam Jackson, a lineman based in Magnolia, April 21, 2026, was more than just another workday, it was a moment of recognition.

Jackson reflected on attending Arkansas’s Lineworker Appreciation Day at the State Capitol for the first time in his 24-year career, a testament to the often-unpredictable nature of the profession’s work hours. The day also marked another first for Jackson, his first television news interview.

“It’s a great feeling to be here,” he said. “I’m proud to work for a company that truly values its workers. There’s a real sense of fulfillment and pride in restoring power and keeping it on. The people at my church, my neighbors, my friends and family they’re what power me through the long hours and harsh conditions.”

Jackson was among roughly two dozen Entergy Arkansas lineworkers who gathered alongside state legislators for a day of appreciation and recognition. The event began with a shared lunch, offering lineworkers and lawmakers the opportunity to connect and reflect on the critical role these men and women play in powering Arkansas communities.

Following lunch, the group made its way to the Arkansas State Capitol, where they posed for photos on the front steps. Joining the lineworkers for the occasion were Drew Marsh, chair and CEO of Entergy , Jason Chapman, chief technology and business services officer, and Laura Landreaux, president and CEO of Entergy Arkansas. The leaders stood alongside the crews in recognition of their dedication, resilience and unwavering commitment to customers.

Inside the Capitol, the group split up with half heading to the House chamber and the other half to the Senate chamber. In a warm show of bipartisan support, each legislative body read a formal resolution declaring April 21, 2026 as Lineworker Appreciation Day in Arkansas. Rep. Shad Pearce sponsored the resolution in the House (HR1037) and Sen. David Wallace sponsored the resolution in the Senate (SR28).

The recognition underscores the essential role lineworkers play not only in keeping the lights on, but in responding to storms, rebuilding infrastructure and ensuring reliable service as Entergy Arkansas continues to focus on Better Power as part of its Next Generation Arkansas initiative.

Entergy Arkansas lineworkers were also joined by those from SWEPCO, Arkansas Electric Cooperatives Corporation and Oklahoma Gas & Electric, all with service areas in Arkansas.

For Jackson and his fellow lineworkers, the day served as a reminder that their work does not go unnoticed. It’s a profession defined by sacrifice, skill and service and one that continues to power communities across the state, one connection at a time.
