Winter weather has arrived across our service area, bringing snow, ice and freezing rain. Forecasts call for below-freezing temperatures to last for several days into early next week, with more than a half-inch of ice possible in some areas.
Our teams are closely monitoring conditions and are prepared to respond as soon as it is safe to do so.

Restoration efforts
If outages occur, crews will begin restoring power as quickly and safely as possible. Restoration may include closing circuit breakers and rerouting power when available and deploying damage assessment teams to identify and prioritize repairs.
Following winter storms, it can take additional time to fully understand the extent of damage and provide more specific restoration timeframes. Ice, snow, weighed-down vegetation and extreme cold make restoration work especially dangerous, and icy roads may limit access to some communities. When possible, we restore power while damage assessments are still underway.
If you don’t see crews working nearby, they may be repairing another part of the electric system that must be fixed before power can be restored to your area.
Additional resources
As of 7 a.m., roughly 2,900 restoration workers are in place or mobilizing across our service area ahead of the storm.
Crews are also coming from more than a dozen states — including Maine, Florida, Illinois, Tennessee, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Alabama, Connecticut, West Virginia and New York — as well as Canada.
Safety is a core value
The most dangerous time during a storm is often after it has passed. Please keep yourself and your family safe:
- Stay away from downed power lines — assume they are energized
- Avoid areas with storm debris, where power lines may not be visible
- Use extreme caution in icy and snowy conditions
Warming centers available
Entergy is coordinating closely with local and state officials to support the operation of warming centers across impacted areas and to address the needs of critical facilities.

Powering medical needs
We work hard to restore power quickly and safely for all customers, but we cannot guarantee continuous service during severe weather.
If you rely on electricity for medical needs have a backup power plan in place and ensure you have alternative arrangements during outages.
While our crews focus on restoration, it’s important for customers to prepare for emergencies ahead of time.
