Majority of Storm-Affected Southwest Louisiana Customers Could be Restored by Sept. 23

Crews are making significant progress in southwest Louisiana and now expect to make power available to the majority of customers affected by Hurricane Laura by Sept. 23. They expect to restore power to the remaining customers who can safely receive it by Sept. 30.

As of 9:30 a.m. Sept. 14, approximately 47,472 remain without power in Calcasieu and Cameron parishes in Louisiana. Outages numbers could fluctuate due to bad weather or other temporary causes.

While crews continue making progress restoring power to customers affected by Hurricane Laura, Entergy is also preparing for the potential impacts in the coming days of Tropical Storm Sally that forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico. We encourage customers to prepare, too.

Hurricane Laura Restoration Update – 9/13/20 @ 9:30 a.m.

As of 9:00 a.m. Sept. 13, approximately 48,500 remain without power in Calcasieu and Cameron parishes in Louisiana. Outages numbers could fluctuate due to bad weather or other temporary causes.

Hurricane Laura Restoration Update – 9/12/20 @ 9 a.m.

As of 8:45 a.m. Sept. 12, approximately 57,000 remain without power in Calcasieu and Cameron parishes in Louisiana. Outages numbers could fluctuate due to bad weather or other temporary causes.

Entergy Louisiana Restoration Evening Update – Sept. 11

Another restoration milestone was reached in Louisiana today with the re-energization of the second of nine high-voltage lines feeding power into the Lake Charles area. This critical 500kV source will help restore the reliability of our system following the unprecedented damage from Hurricane Laura.

Entergy’s storm team continues to work to restore power to customers in Calcasieu and Cameron parishes, the areas hit hardest by Hurricane Laura on Aug. 27.

Entergy Louisiana Restoration Evening Update – Sept. 10

Progress continues in Southwest Louisiana where approximately 23,000 customer outages have been restored in Calcasieu and Cameron parishes just two weeks after the region bore the brunt of Hurricane Laura. As of Thursday evening, approximately 70,000 customer outages remain in Calcasieu and Cameron parishes.
