The American Heart Association recognizes Kenyon Webber as a 2024 “Women in STEM” honoree

Kenyon Webber, a senior lead nuclear engineer at Entergy, was recently recognized as one of six 2024 "Women in STEM" honorees by the American Heart Association. This award is a recognition of her outstanding commitment and impact in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, or STEM, in New Orleans.

Creativity, passion and attention to detail provide winning combination in economic development

They’re made in the hours of practice, reps in the gym and the time spent watching game film and studying their opponents. The same can be said of economic development. When Kenyon Webber, Entergy senior lead nuclear engineer, moved to the Greater New Orleans area, she wanted to continue her involvement with STEM-related programs and organizations. Webber initially worked with STEM NOLA, but more recently became involved with FIRST Robotics competitions, Girl Scouts of Louisiana, Girls in STEM at Tulane and STEM Goes Red with the American Heart Association. She also a board member with STEM Library Lab and the 1881 Institute.

Entergy employees honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and fight food insecurity in our communities

Recently, Entergy employees came together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in a series of events across our service areas to support our communities in need. With a shared commitment to giving back, our employees joined forces with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and Healthy and packed 200,000 meals that will be distributed to Louisiana families struggling with food insecurity. This collective effort not only allowed us to achieve our goal of assisting our customers, neighbors and families in need but also had a significant impact on addressing hunger in Louisiana.

Spotlighting our communities at the AABE Energy Policy Summit

TheAmerican Association of Blacks in Energybrought together a diverse network of energy professionals representing every energy career field during its 2023 Energy Policy Summit held in Washington, D.C. in December. The AABE is a non-profit organization that promotes the advancement of Blacks and other minorities in the energy industry. The Summit serves as a platform for amplifying the voices of people of color on energy policy matters and attracts excellent speakers. By fostering valuable dialogue with policy leaders, the Summit addresses economic opportunities and their impact on underserved communities.

And as the annual women’s leadership conference celebrates the decade mark, it is welcoming Sandra Diggs-Miller as its powerful keynote speaker.Diggs-Miller, who is vice president of external affairs for Entergy, has built a sterling legal career, first as an associate at Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann and then through a series of prominent roles at Entergy including as vice president of customer service for Entergy New Orleans and as assistant general counsel.
