Entergy New Orleans will join Utilities United Against Scams this week to support International Fraud Awareness Week and to recognize the ninth annual Utility Scam Awareness Day on Wednesday, November 20. Utility Scam Awareness Day is an advocacy and awareness campaign focused on educating customers and exposing scammer tactics.

Energy Smart helps businesses cut costs and save energy
Energy Smart, Entergy New Orleans’ energy efficiency program, is helping businesses save money while meeting energy efficiency goals. The Energy Smart Fund has $4 million remaining in 2024 for businesses in Orleans Parish. The $9 million Energy Smart Fund will cover up to 100% of qualifying project costs for businesses. To date, local businesses have claimed nearly $5 million in funds.

Powering the future
Every year, Entergy New Orleans celebrates Black Energy Awareness Month (B.E.A.M.)by honoring the invaluable contributions of minorities to the energy industry and highlighting the critical role energy plays in daily life. This year, we partnered with the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) and other local organizations to bring the Power Circuit Tour to students at Lake Forest Charter School. The event sparked students’ curiosity in energy-related careers and offered them insights into the diverse pathways available within the energy sector.

Entergy New Orleans’ annual golf tournament raises $150K for The Power to Care Program
Entergy New Orleans hosted its annual golf tournament at English Turn Golf & Country Club, raising approximately $150,000 for Entergy’s The Power to Care program, which is administered by the New Orleans Council on Aging. Entergy New Orleans employees, community members and corporate partners formed 41 teams to compete in an 18-hole scramble.

Entergy sponsors scholarship event and presents Unsung Hero Award
Entergy sponsored the 2nd Annual New Orleans Association of Black Journalists Jazz Brunch and Silent Auction, supporting the organization’s scholarship fund. The event honored two local veteran journalists and awarded two scholarships named in their honor: the Nancy Parker Memorial Scholarship awarded to TaShia Hogue, and the William “Bill” Rousselle Memorial Scholarship awarded to Kennedy Wells. These scholarships will assist the recipients in furthering their education.
