Entergy Arkansas is transforming its generation fleet to bring the most cost efficient, state-of-the-art gas generation to power customers today and future generations of Arkansas, filing for approval of a new energy-efficient natural gas power plant named Jefferson Power Station. Jefferson Power Station (JPS) is a 754-megawatt combined cycle combustion turbine facility with the capability to power more than 355,000 homes and will be located on the same site as the company’s White Bluff facility in Jefferson County.

Entergy New Orleans is committed to providing reliable service to our customers by investing in transmission projects that help strengthen the electric grid and reduce the risk of outages. Recent efforts in Mid-City, Gentilly, and New Orleans East reflect that commitment with crews completing major upgrades to our transmission and distribution lines.

For some people, giving back is built into their DNA. Jonathan Simmons, operations technician at Entergy’s Independence Plant in Arkansas, has already logged more than 145 volunteer hours this year.

Entergy New Orleans is committed to maintaining a safe and reliable energy grid for our customers. As part of that commitment, this week we conducted a walkdown in the Faubourg-Delachaise and Touro-Bouligny neighborhoods to inspect utility poles and assess ongoing infrastructure needs.
