GRENADA, Miss.– Entergy Mississippi customers in Grenada County are now being served by a more reliable transmission grid. The company recently completed a $33-million project to support power load growth in Grenada’s industrial corridor. The project includes a new substation, 2 miles of transmission lines and 3 miles of distribution lines.

“The new Grenada Industrial Substation allows us to support economic growth and continue to provide reliable service in Grenada County at affordable rates,” said Haley Fisackerly, Entergy Mississippi president and CEO. “Our investment enhances grid reliability for the area and represents our commitment to ensure a strong, modern grid that can support continued growth in our communities.”

In recent years, Grenada County has been successful at expanding existing economic infrastructure as well as promoting new business for the region. With the expansion of Milwaukee Tool, bringing the new substation improves reliability for neighboring customers.

Construction began June 2024, and the substation was officially put into service June 2, 2025.
