Entergy Mississippi winter storm update – 1/12/24, 2 p.m.

Early morning storms bringing strong, gusty high winds entered our Entergy service territory causing fallen trees and broken tree limbs resulting in outages and damages to our facilities. Outages peaked at 10,597 customers impacted at 9:15 a.m. As of 1:30 p.m., 5,712 customers remain without power. As early damage assessment has begun, we have identified damages to 52 poles, 2 transformers, 57 cross arms, and 141 spans (38,775 feet) of downed wire. A workforce of damage assessors, vegetation crews, line workers, and support personnel are diligently working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible through this event.

Approximately 13,000 customers remained without power after severe thunderstorms that brought strong winds, lightning, hail and possible tornadoes. The majority of customers without power are expected to be restored by tonight at 10 p.m.
