As the anticipated summer heat wave will cause customers to increase their energy usage, the Mississippi Public Service Commission has approved Entergy Mississippi’s annual rate plan to keep energy rates stable and bills 20% below the national average.

The season follows a stormy two weeks in the company’s service area, where consecutive weather events caused repeated outages. Beginning Sunday, May 19 through Wednesday, May 28, crews restored power to more than 86,000 storm related outages.
