Waterford 3 Team Member Helps with Hurricane Laura Restoration

Brendan Pitre, Entergy Nuclear fleet senior coordinator of security compliance, assigned to Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station, volunteered to help in the massive Hurricane Laura restoration effort. For this, he was recognized by Entergy Nuclear for exhibiting a safe work environment and a passion for teamwork and received one of Entergy Nuclear’s Employee Spotlight recognitions.

Entergy’s Indian Point Unit 3 nuclear power plant returned to service following its successful scheduled $100 million refueling, maintenance and inspection outage. Control room operators returned Unit 3 to operation this morning, sending electricity to the grid after a planned shutdown that began March 13.

Experts Testify Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant Will Use State-of-the-Art Science, Legally Enforceable Commitments Over Next 20 Years to Assure Safety

The Indian Point nuclear power plant has made legally enforceable commitments based on state-of-the-art science to ensure that its safe operation will be closely monitored throughout the 20-year period of renewed licenses, experts testified at hearings that ended Thursday. A three-judge panel of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, meeting in Tarrytown, NY, heard testimony this week by technical experts from Westinghouse, Structural Integrity Associates, and Entergy.
