Entergy Texas storm update – 5/28/24, 7 p.m.

A restoration crew of more than 870 people are working around the clock to turn the lights onnSevere weather continues to impact Southeast Texas with increased strength and frequency. Strong winds, heavy rain, and hail moved through the Entergy Texas service area Tuesday, causing a peak of approximately 85,000 customer outages. As of 7 p.m., approximately 65,000 customers are without power.

All customers who can safely receive power are expected to be restored by the end of the daynEntergy Texas crews continue to make progress restoring power after tornadoes, heavy rain, and strong winds caused widespread outages across the region Thursday. As of 9:30 a.m., approximately 4,500 customers are without power, down from a peak of 44,500 customers at 8 p.m. Thursday night.

More than 85% of customers restored after severe thunderstorms caused widespread outages nEntergy Texas crews worked around the clock to restore power to more than 85% of customers impacted by Thursday’s severe thunderstorms. As of 5:30 p.m., approximately 6,200 customers are without power, down from the peak of approximately 44,500 customers without power at 8 p.m. Thursday.

More than 66% of customers restored overnight after severe thunderstorms caused widespread outagesnEntergy Texas crews worked throughout the night to safely restore power to 66% of customers impacted by severe thunderstorms that moved through the region Thursday. As of 9:30 a.m., approximately 14,800 customers are without power, down from the peak of approximately 44,500 at 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Entergy Texas storm update – 5/4/24, 6:30 p.m.

Nearly all customers restored after severe weather caused widespread outages Thursday and FridaynThe majority of Entergy Texas customers have been restored after severe thunderstorms, hail, lightning and strong winds caused widespread outages across the Entergy Texas service area Thursday and Friday. As of 6:30 p.m. Saturday, approximately 373 outages remain, which is a significant decrease from the peak of approximately 37,600 outages Thursday morning.

Crews restore power to 90% of customers impacted by back-to-back severe thunderstormsnEntergy Texas crews made significant progress overnight and have now restored power to 90% of customers impacted by severe thunderstorms that moved through the region Thursday and Friday. At the peak of Thursday’s storm, approximately 37,600 customers were without power. As of 10 a.m. Saturday, approximately 2,600 outages remain.

Severe flooding delaying restoration for some areas, but majority of customers are expected to be restored before the end of the daynEntergy Texas crews continue to make progress on restoring power to customers impacted by severe thunderstorms that passed through Southeast Texas Thursday and Friday. As of 4 p.m., approximately 7,800 customers are without power, which is down from the peak of approximately 25,100 outages around 8 a.m.

Additional resources requested to assist with restoration after back-to-back severe thunderstorms cause widespread outagesnSevere thunderstorms, hail, lightning and strong winds passed through Southeast Texas Thursday causing widespread outages across the Entergy Texas service area. At peak, approximately 37,600 customers were without power. Restoration teams diligently worked throughout the day to restore power to more than 88% of customers impacted by Thursday’s severe weather before another round of storms rolled through the region Friday morning. As of 11:30 a.m. Friday, approximately 13,100 customers are without power.
