Arkansas Nuclear One employees rally to raise nearly $7,000 for River Valley Food 4 Kids

Arkansas Nuclear One employees demonstrated their commitment to supporting local families this holiday season in a big way. In just two weeks, our employees raised an incredible $6,927.62 to support the River Valley Food 4 Kids organization and help ease food insecurity across our shared community.

It started with a modest goal of $7.50 per employee, but our team members exceeded that by more than 923 times. A portion of the funds were put to use immediately with a purchase of 270 loaves of bread and a pallet of food that were delivered to River Valley Food 4 Kids on Nov. 24.

Since 2014, River Valley Food 4 Kids has worked to alleviate hunger among children in the Arkansas River Valley. According to RVF4K, $7.50 provides 30,000 calories of food for children in need. With that metric, ANO’s donations will help support hundreds of families across the region during a time when many are struggling.

Jason Norton, an engineer at ANO who helped organize the rally behind RVF4K, said the response was both unexpected and deeply appreciated.

“We thought we’d get a little interest, but people blew us away,” Norton said. “It reminded me just how big the hearts are inside this place.”

This donation also placed ANO among the top four contributors to RVF4K this year, alongside an impressive employee turnout at both the pre-distribution event and the Nov. 25 food distribution.

This effort reflects our ongoing commitment to serving vulnerable customers and strengthening the communities we serve.
