At the New Orleans Saints’ first preseason matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Entergy recognized Justin Kozerski as the Lineman of the Game. A senior lineman with six years of service in the New Orleans metro region, Kozerski attended the game with his son, who had the unique opportunity to see the players up close on the field before kickoff, a moment they will both long remember.

Kozerski’s path to line work began with a recommendation from a friend who encouraged him to pursue an apprenticeship through utility companies, where hands-on training and career advancement are key. To prepare for the opportunities ahead, he enrolled at Northwest Lineman College in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“I love that in our line of work there’s always a new location, and every job brings something different,” said Kozerski. “The advice I’d give anyone looking to join this trade is to pay close attention to detail and keep a positive attitude no matter the circumstances.”

Outside of work, Kozerski enjoys fishing, family trips to the beach, and cheering on the Saints, his home team that he has rooted for since childhood. A lifelong football fan, he played football from first grade through his senior year of high school, primarily as a running back and middle linebacker. He credits the sport with teaching him toughness, discipline and teamwork, which are the qualities he carries into his daily responsibilities as a lineman.

Off the field, Kozerski’s interests may surprise some. Beyond his passion for fantasy football research and NFL fandom, he admits to being an avid Taylor Swift listener – a fun reminder that linemen, like the communities they serve, have diverse interests and hobbies.

For Kozerski, being honored at the Saints game was not only a recognition of his hard work and dedication, but also a celebration of the brotherhood of linemen who keep the lights on safely and reliably across New Orleans and beyond.
