Behind the scenes at Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station, every repair, replacement and upgrade depends on one crucial team: the warehouse. And for nearly two years, Mark Coleman, senior material operator, has been one of the steady hands keeping that system moving safely and efficiently.  

His days are filled with logistics and precision. Coleman manages parts, repairs, returns and shipments, ensuring every item entering or leaving the plant is tracked and accounted for. “Everything has to be traceable,” he explains. “From safety-related components to routine materials, we have to know where it is, where it is going and how it has been handled.” That attention to traceability is crucial for nuclear safety and responsibility. 

The warehouse team also coordinates with procurement, performs weekly shipments and even supports the nuclear fleet with critical transfers. “Without us, the parts don’t move,” Coleman says. “We’re the team behind the scenes ensuring every job can be completed safely and on time.” 

What keeps him motivated is the team around him. “When I first came on at Entergy, everyone was so helpful,” he recalls. “If you don’t know something, someone is always willing to show you. It makes it easy to ask questions and learn.”  

That spirit of collaboration continues to shape Coleman’s goals. He is currently training as a receipt inspector, working toward his Level 2 certification, a role responsible for verifying and validating every incoming part against strict quality and traceability standards. “It’s all about making sure what comes in matches what’s on the record,” he says. “Every detail matters.”  

For Coleman, success comes from staying grounded and motivated, even when the warehouse is buzzing with phone calls and requests. “Every day brings a new challenge,” he says. “But that’s what makes it rewarding. At the end of the day, you know you’ve helped keep this place running.”
