Bringing support to the heart of Little Rock
On July 29, The Watershed in Little Rock was again a hub of hope for people in need. Entergy Arkansas in partnership with the Central Arkansas Development Council and other local service organizations, hosted a customer resource pop-up event designed to connect people with the support they need most.
The event served 208 individuals, a powerful reflection of both the need for assistance and the impact of meeting customers where they are. As part of Entergy Arkansas’s Next Generation Arkansas strategy—specifically its Affordable Power pillar—events like this help ensure customers have access not only to reliable energy, but also to the resources and support that keep energy costs manageable.
Real stories. Real impact.
For many attendees, the event provided immediate and meaningful relief.
Esha Mustafa shared her experience getting assistance and receiving a fan to help offset using her air conditioner:
“I’m getting some assistance with this electric bill that I have. I’m really grateful for that. With these temperatures, a fan is going to be very necessary for the next couple months.”
She encouraged others not to hesitate to seek help: “If you need assistance, don’t be ashamed. ”
Letatiandra Harris also highlighted the importance of the support: “I came because I heard they were helping with light bills. With everything going on in the economy, that really means a lot—especially if you’re not working right now.”
Her message was simple but powerful: “I just want to say thank you so much.”
Powered by partnership and purpose
Behind the scenes, the event was the result of strong collaboration and dedicated teamwork. Katrina Brown, Entergy Arkansas customer service manager and event organizer, emphasized the importance of partnerships:
“We’re bringing resources from across the state together, working with CADC, who administers LIHEAP funding, and other organizations, to serve our community in one place.”
For Brown and the team, the reward is in the impact.
“The best part of my job is seeing someone feel relief—when they didn’t know how they were going to pay their bill or didn’t realize help was available. A simple thank you or a hug makes it all worth it.”
She also underscored the team effort behind the event:
“It takes a dedicated group of Entergy Arkansas employees working together to make these events successful.”
More than assistance; a path to better health
While many attendees came for bill assistance, some left with something even more critical: life-saving health insights.
During the event, health screenings identified serious conditions for some participants, connecting them to care they didn’t know they needed.
“You come in for one resource,” Brown said, “and you may receive something that could potentially save your life. When we say we power life, we truly mean it.”
A lasting impact
The Watershed pop-up event was more than a single day of service, it was a powerful example of what happens when community, compassion and commitment come together. Through the efforts of Entergy Arkansas employees, partners and volunteers, hundreds of customers found relief, comfort and critical resources, advancing the company’s commitment to Affordable Power by helping ease the financial burden of energy costs.
As summer temperatures continue to rise, the impact of this event will extend far beyond the day itself, felt in cooler homes, lighter financial burdens and stronger connections across the community.
