ORANGE, Texas – Construction on Entergy Texas’ Orange County Advanced Power Station, also referred to as OCAPS, is entering its final phase, marking a major milestone in the delivery of affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for Southeast Texas.

Construction is now more than 80% complete and the overall project has reached 90% completion, keeping OCAPS on schedule to begin serving customers in the summer of 2026.

“We’re incredibly excited to see this project entering its final stretch,” said Keith Pollock, project director. “Our team has worked diligently to keep construction on track, and we’re proud of the progress being made every day. As we move into the last phase, we’re focused on safely delivering a facility that will serve this region for decades.”

Once operational, the Orange County Advanced Power Station will generate approximately 1,215 megawatts of power, producing enough energy to power the equivalent of 230,000 homes. The facility will also support economic growth across Southeast Texas while helping reduce emissions through modern, fuel-efficient technology.

“This facility is a cornerstone of our strategy to modernize our infrastructure and provide reliable and more sustainable power,” said Jim Malain, Entergy Texas customer service manager. “Its fuel efficiency will generate more than $1 billion in savings for our customers during its lifetime, making a real difference in the communities we serve.”
