As part of its 40th anniversary, River Bend Station has received formal recognition from the Louisiana House of Representatives, the Louisiana Senate and the federal government, commemorating four decades of service to Louisiana and the nation.
River Bend was honored with both a House floor resolution and a Senate floor resolution from the Louisiana Legislature, as well as federal proclamation recognizing the station’s contributions to customer affordability energy reliability, economic development and public service.
These recognitions serve as a testament to the lasting impact of the station and the nuclear professionals who have supported its mission throughout the past 40 years. Together, the resolutions and proclamation acknowledge the role River Bend has played in providing nuclear energy, supporting local communities, creating high-quality careers and advancing the nation’s energy infrastructure.

“Receiving recognition at both the state and federal levels is an honor,” said Phil Hansett, site vice president of River Bend Station. “These acknowledgements reflect the dedication and commitment demonstrated by generations of employees who have made safety and reliability their highest priorities.”
For four decades, River Bend has been an important part of Louisiana’s energy landscape. The legislative resolutions and federal proclamation recognize the station’s achievements and the employees, retirees, contractors and community partners who contributed to its success.
As River Bend celebrates this milestone, leaders say the recognition provides an opportunity to reflect on the legacy that has been built and the responsibility of continuing that legacy for future generations.
“While we are proud of what has been accomplished over the last 40 years, these recognitions also serve as a reminder that our greatest achievements are made possible by our nuclear professionals,” said Hansett.
The milestone at River Bend comes at a pivotal time for Louisiana’s broader nuclear energy strategy. River Bend stands as one of the largest sources of carbon‑free electricity in Entergy Louisiana’s energy portfolio. Under a newly unveiled statewide nuclear framework – supported by federal funding and strengthened through coordination with industry partners – Entergy Louisiana is at the center of the state’s effort to build a comprehensive nuclear ecosystem that envisions expanded generation capabilities, advanced component manufacturing and progress in fuel conversion and enrichment technologies.
By anchoring this statewide vision, Entergy Louisiana reinforces its long‑term commitment to nuclear power as an essential element of a reliable, clean energy future. River Bend’s 40 years of service exemplify that commitment, demonstrating operational excellence, low‑carbon performance and a strong foundation of workforce, regulatory and community readiness that positions the station to support Louisiana’s next generation of nuclear expansion.
